In addition, the structural <br />response states that details have been provided, but these cannot be located. <br />Original Comment: Detail 0�/A9.01 shows the connection of the posts to the structure. The <br />details for the guards and connections are not complete and should be revised. Half of the lag <br />screws do not appear to connect to framing. Calculations should be submitted for review <br />substantiating the design of the guards, connections, and supporting framing. The loads per <br />IBC Section 1607.8.1 should be used. The original comment stated that structural <br />and geotechnical special inspections appear to be required for this project. A brief statement <br />addressing inspection of bearing soils is provided on Sheet S4, and no structural inspection <br />requirements were located. The drawings should provide a clearly labeled list of special <br />inspections in the structural general notes. Inspections include but are not limited to <br />preparation of bearing soils, concrete construction, and shear wall nailing. The drawings should <br />include a table listing each type of special inspection and the extent of each inspection (e.g., <br />continuous, periodic) per IBC Section 1704.3.1. The table should include special requirements <br />for seismic and wind resisting systems as required by IBC Sections 1704.3.2 and 1704.3.3, <br />respectively. See IBC Sections 107.1, 1704.2.3 and 1704.3. <br />This comment has not been completely addressed. The original comment stated that the roof <br />trusses should be identified in the General Structural Notes as a deferred submittal. A note has <br />been added to Sheet 9 identifying the trusses as deferred submittals; the general notes do not <br />appear to include review requirements by the FOR as required. The drawings should provide a <br />clearly labeled list of deferred submittals in the structural general notes. The notes should state <br />the FOR for the project should review the truss design for conformance with the construction <br />drawings and approve the shop drawings prior to fabrication of the trusses. The note should <br />reference the roof plans for additional in -plane loading for trusses transferring diaphragm loads <br />to the Upper Floor shear walls. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 107.3.4.1, and 1603.1.8. <br />Gravity System: <br />�i�2r7 <br />This comment has not been addressed. The design for the stairways does not appear to be <br />provided as stated in the response. Framing details should be included. Calculations <br />substantiating the design of the stringers should be submitted for review. It is noted that the <br />response states that the interior guards have been designated as deferred submittal items, <br />these should be included in a clearly labeled list of deferred submittals in the structural general <br />notes.
