<br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />25 <br /> <br />Driving safety: <br /> <br />• Drive safely, courteously, and defensively at all times <br />• Operate vehicles within posted speed limits <br />• Check vehicles before operating including oil, air lines, water, tires, and lights <br />• Secure loads <br /> <br /> <br />Odor Control <br /> <br />• To avoid nuisance odors, drivers should not stop en route to applications sites other than <br />at rest areas, truck stops, or weigh stations. Emergencies or equipment failure are the <br />exceptions. <br /> <br />Emergency Procedures <br /> <br />All vehicles shall contain a copy of this handbook to help the driver respond to emergencies. A <br />quick response to an emergency situation will help to minimize impacts. Drivers shall remain at <br />the scene of any accident or spill until emergency responders arrive and give the driver <br />permission to leave. <br /> <br /> <br />Communications <br /> <br />• If the driver is involved in a vehicle accident or is the first to arrive at the scene of an <br />accident, the driver shall radio or call their dispatcher and respective supervisor. The <br />dispatcher will notify appropriate emergency responders. If the driver is unable to contact <br />their dispatcher or supervisor, contact emergency services (911) immediately. <br /> <br />• The following information should be provided to the dispatcher or emergency response <br />personnel: <br /> <br />• Address or location of accident <br /> <br />• Number of person involved <br /> <br />• Injuries <br /> <br />• Nature of accident <br /> <br /> <br />Vehicular Accidents <br /> <br />• If the driver is involved in a vehicle accident or is the first to arrive at the scene of an <br />accident, assist any injured persons, if trained in First Aid/CPR. <br />
