• <br /> CERTIFICATE OF.APPROVAL: A printed or written certificate, <br /> showing approval of the Fire Chief and permitting the sale thereo <br /> in the City of Everett, of an oil burner, oil burning equipment, <br /> accessories attached thereto, etc . <br /> CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION: A permit or written permit <br /> authorizing the use and operation of installed oil burners, oil <br /> burning equipment, and accessories attached thereto. <br /> INSTALLATION Pi MIT: A printed or written permit <br /> showing authorization to install oil burners, oil burning equip- <br /> ment, accessories attached thereto, etc . <br /> Section 2: It shall be unlawful to sell or <br /> offer for sale , or use within the City of Everett , any type or <br /> make of oil burner, as hereinbefore defined, unless the manu- <br /> facturer thereof, or his agent, has first obtained from the Fire <br /> Chief of the City of Everett a Certificate of Approval for the <br /> oil burner and all accessories attached or to be attached thereto, <br /> except tanks, piping and electric wiring. <br /> CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL, as above provided, shall be <br /> issued or denied in accordance with the following requirements: <br /> (a) Any person desiring a Certificate of Approval for <br /> an oil burner shall, at least Thirty (30 ) days before such oil <br /> burner is installed or sold, make application in writing at the <br /> office of the Fire Chief, upon a form provided for that purpose , <br /> which shall be accompanied with a blue print of assembly drawing, <br /> in size not less than 12 x 18 inches, showing construction of th= <br /> device ,indicauing moving parts, oil passages and air passages <br /> and all accessories to be attached to the burner. <br /> (b) The Fire Chief shall , within Thirty (30 ) days fro•+ <br /> the receipt of the above application, issue a Certificate of <br /> Approval as applied for, or shall refuse such Certificate of <br /> Approval, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> (c) Certificates of Approval, as herein provided, <br /> shall be issued only for oil burners of types which comply in <br /> all respects with the requirements of this ordinance , and the <br /> Fire Chief may require any applicant for such Certificate to <br /> submit his type of oil burner to a practical demonstration to <br /> be conducted under the direction of the said Fire Chief with a <br /> view of testing such appliance for compliance with said require- <br /> ments; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that not less than Fifty (50) gallons <br /> of oil fuel shall be used in any such oil burner tests. The <br /> entire cost of such test shall be borne by the said applicant. <br /> -2- <br />
