(d) Should the Fire Chief disapprove of an oil burner <br /> and refuse to grant a Certificate of Approval therefor, he shall <br /> issue to the manufacturer of the burner, or his agent , a clear <br /> and concise statement, in writing, as to the reason or reasons <br /> therefor•, and no new application for a Certificate of Approval <br /> for such burner shall be made until Ninety ( 90) days from the dat: <br /> of said disapproval, except that any minor changes that shall be <br /> necessary may be submitted at the convenience of the applicant . <br /> (e) Any new application made after the Fire Chief has <br /> disapproved an oil burner shall be accompanied by a clear and <br /> concise statement, giving reasons for reconsideration, based on <br /> information received with the statement of reasons for dis- <br /> approval. <br /> Section 3: It shall be unlawful to install, or <br /> cause to be installed, or repair any oil burner or oil burning <br /> equipment without first obtaining an installation permit from <br /> the Fire Chief of the City of Everett . <br /> Section 3A: It shall be unlawful to use or operate <br /> any oil burning equipment or oil burner, without first obtaining <br /> a Certificate of Inspection from the Fire Chief of the City of <br /> Everett . <br /> Section 4: Where oil burning systems, using a pump <br /> to deliver oil fuel from an above-ground oil storage or supply <br /> tank to the burner, are installed or used, the construction of <br /> the tank and its distance from the heating device containing <br /> the oil burner and all piping in connection therewith, shall <br /> comply with the provisions of this ordinance relating to gravity <br /> oil burning systems. If the suction outlet from the oil supply <br /> tank of such systems is located below the level of the oil burne <br /> or an approved anti-syphoning device is provided in the oil feed <br /> pipe to the burner, such oil burning systems may be installed an• <br /> used in any story of a building, and in premises of any type of <br /> occupancy, notwithstanding the restrictions hereinafter provided <br /> for gravity oil burning. systems. In all other respects oil burners <br /> to which oil fuel is delivered by pumping from an above-ground <br /> storage tank, shall comply with the requirements of this ordinance <br /> relating to oil burners connected to underground tanks. <br /> Oil burners and oil burning stoves which are designed <br /> to burn oil having flash point below one hundred twenty (120 ) <br /> degrees Fahrenheit and which are provided with an oil storage <br /> or supply tank having an oil capacity in excess of One (1) gallo' <br /> are prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to use any <br /> such oil as a fuel or as a primer for an oil burner, in any oil <br /> burning systems using an oil supply tank of a capacity in excess <br /> of One (1) gallon. <br /> Section 5: Gravity oil burners for installation <br /> in ranges, stoves, furnaces and other heating devices, and all <br /> oil burning equipment in connection therewith, shall comply with <br /> the following requirements of this section: <br /> -3- <br />
