. i <br /> REGULATION OF MILE: PLAYTS <br /> (1) Miscellaneous protection from contamination: <br /> There shall be separate rooms for (a) the pasteurizing, <br /> processing, cooling, bottling operations and ( b) the washing and <br /> bactericidal treatment of containers. Cans of raw milk shall not <br /> be unloaded directly in the pasteurizing room. Pasteurized milk <br /> or milk proaucts shall not be permitted to come in contact with <br /> equipment with which unpastuerized milk or milk products have beed <br /> in contact, unless such equipment has first been thoroughly <br /> cleaned and subjected to bactericidal treatment. Rooms in which <br /> milk, milk products, cleaned utensils , or containers are handled <br /> or stored shall not open directly into any stable or living quar- <br /> terms. The pasteurization plant shall not be used for any other <br /> purposes than the processing of milk and milk products and the <br /> operations incident thereto, except as may be approved by the <br /> Board of iiealth and L ilk Inspector. <br /> (2 ) Floors. <br /> The floors of all rooms in which milk or cream is <br /> handled shall be constructed of concrete or other equal imperviops, <br /> and easily cleaned material and shall be smooth, properly drained <br /> provided with trap drains and kept clean. <br /> (3) ells and Ceilings. <br /> 'galls and ceilings of rooms in which milk or cream is <br /> handled or stored shall be of smooth, washable , light colored <br /> surface and be kept clean. <br /> (4) Toilet Facilities. <br /> Milk Plants shall be provided with toilet facilities. <br /> There shall be at least one room or vestibule not used for milk <br /> purposes between the toilet room and any room in which milk or <br /> milk products are handled or storea. The doors of all toilet <br /> rooms shall be self-closing. Toilet rooms shall be kept in <br /> a clean condition, in good repair, and well ventilated. In case <br /> privies or earth closets are permitted and used, they shall be <br /> separate from the building and shall be of a sanitary type . <br /> (5) Water Supply. <br /> The water supply shall be easily accessible, adequate <br /> and of a safe and sanitary quality. <br /> (6) Washing Facilities. <br /> Washing facilities shall be provided incluaing a wash <br /> basin, hot running water, soap and sanitary towels of a type <br /> approved by the milk and rood inspector. No common towel shall <br /> be used. <br /> (7 ) Sanitary Piping. <br /> • <br /> Only sanitary milk piping of a type which can easily <br /> be cleaned with a brush shall be used. <br /> (g) Construction and repair of containers and equipme t. <br /> All equipment with which milk,cream or milk products <br /> come in contact shall be constructed of metal in such a manner <br /> as to be easily cleaned and shall be kept in good repair. <br /> -2- <br />
