THE BOEING EVERETT FIRE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT (206-655-8800) <br />SHALL BE NOTIFIED 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ALL VALVE CLOSURES, <br />FLUSHING, AND HYDROSTATIC TESTS ON THE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM. THE <br />MAXIMUM DURATION OF A SYSTEM CLOSURE IS 8 HOURS UNLESS <br />PERMISSION IS GRANTED BY THE FIRE CHIEF. <br />3. PROVIDE A MATERIAL AND TEST CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION OF THE <br />TESTING. THE CERTIFICATE SHALL BE SIGNED OFF BY THE BOEING EVERETT <br />FIRE INSPECTOR DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO COMMENCING ADDITIONAL WORK ON <br />THE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM. <br />4. PIPE HANGERS SPACING SHALL BE PER NFPA 13. <br />5, ALL SPRINKLER PIPING 3" AND SMALLER SHALL BE SCHEDULE 40 ASTM <br />A-53 GRADE B BLACK STEEL. ALL PIPING 4" AND LARGER SHALL BE ASTM <br />A-53 SCHEDULE 40 FOR VERTICAL RISERS AND SCHEDULE 10 FOR <br />HORIZONTAL MAINS AND CROSS MAINS. <br />6. SPRINKLER SYSTEM PIPE FITTINGS SHALL BE 150 LB. THREADED MALLEABLE <br />IRON FOR 1-1/2" AND SMALLER, AND VICTAULIC GROOVED FITTINGS FOR <br />2-1/2" AND LARGER. PIPE FITTINGS FOR 2" MAY BE EITHER 150 LB, <br />THREADED MALLEABLE IRON OR VICTAULIC GROOVED. <br />7. COUPLINGS FOR GROOVED PIPE AND FITTINGS SHALL BE VICTAULIC STYLE <br />07 ZERO -FLEX UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. <br />8. HYDROSTATIC TEST: PRESSURE - 225 PSIG, DURATION - 2 HOURS. <br />9. SEISMIC BRACING SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FM <br />STANDARDS. SEE FM DATA SHEETS 2-8, "EARTHQUAKE PROTECTION FOR <br />WATER -BASED FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS" FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS. <br />SPRINKLER DESIGN SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST VERSIONS <br />OF NFPA 13 AND FM GLOBAL DATA SHEET 2-0. <br />10. AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER HEADS SHALL BE 155 - 165 DEGREE F. <br />TEMPERATURE RATED. <br />11. ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE UL LISTED AND FM APPROVED FOR FIRE <br />SERVICE. <br />12. PROVIDE WET PIPE FIRE SPRINKLER PROTECTION THROUGHOUT THE TOOL SHOWN ON THIS <br />DRAWING IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA-13 AND BOEING FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS. <br />PROVIDE FIRE SPRINKLERS UNDER ALL GRATED AREAS AND UNDER ALL PLATFORMS. LOCATE <br />SPRINKLER PIPING IN A NEAT MANNER AND TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE CLEARANCE FOR <br />PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT. COORDINATE PIPE ROUTING WITH ALL DISCIPLINES AND PROVIDE <br />ADDITIONAL OFFSETS AND SPRINKLERS AS REQUIRED. PROVIDE AUXILIARY DRAINS PER <br />NFPA-13. <br />13. PROVIDE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH BOEING FIRE PROTECTION <br />ENGINEERING STANDARD 038108-F, NFPA-13, FM 2-8 AND FM 2-8N, APPLICABLE CODES <br />AND BOEING FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS. THE FIRE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />PREPARE FIRE SPRINKLER SHOP DRAWINGS AND HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH THESE STANDARDS AND SUBMIT TO BOEING FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERING FOR <br />APPROVAL AND PERMIT. <br />14. FIRE SPRINKLER SHOP DRAWINGS SHALL INCLUDE THE SPRINKLER CONTROL VALVE TAG AND <br />LOCATION FOR THE CONTROL VALVE THAT SERVES THE AREA. <br />CONSTRUCTION NOTES <br />1. CONTRACTOR SHALL INVESTIGATE AND VERIFY LOCATIONS OF <br />STRUCTURAL, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL ELEMENTS AND OTHER <br />EXISTING CONDITIONS TO AVOID CONFLICTS PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE <br />WORK. <br />2. ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN EXISTING CONDITIONS AND CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS SHALL BE CALLED TO THE ATTENTION OF BRPH. <br />3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY IN THE AREA OF <br />WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL OSHA AND BOEING STANDARDS. <br />4. ROUTE FIRE PROTECTION PIPE ALONG TOOL STEEL. <br />5. COORDINATE SPRINKLER HEAD PLACEMENT AND PIPE ROUTING WITH ALL <br />DISCIPLINES, INCLUDING NW AND EXISTING MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL <br />DISCIPLINES. <br />(C PROVIDE PERMANENT SPRINKLER PIPING, MOUNTED ON TOOL. WHERE <br />POSSIBLE, REUSE EXISTING SPRINKLER HEADS AND FIRE PIPE. THE <br />SPRINKLER HEADS MUST PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR THE ENTIRE <br />SURFACE OF THE AFT SI FUSELAGE SECTION, INCLUDING AT OPEN <br />ENDS AND ALONG FULL LENGTH. <br />PROVIDE IN -DUCT WET PIPE FIRE SPRINKLER PROTECTION IN CIC <br />EXHAUST DUCTWORK, AS SHOWN. SPRINKLER DENSITY SHALL BE <br />DEFERRED TO LICENSED FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR, <br />8.
