The REET 2 funding from Snohomish County is a <br />reimbursable grant that will be paid back into CIP-3 after the project is completed. <br />The project cost estimate is $110,000. These costs include all construction activities, <br />contingency, tax, and all other costs associated with the project. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The City of Everett Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan adopted in 2022 <br />identifies the development of trails and fitness activities as two of the top opportunities <br />that will benefit park users. Hannabrook Park is specifically highlighted as a park with <br />opportunities for further enhancements that will complement the natural elements of <br />the park, including an existing half -mile soft trail around the park, popular with walkers <br />and runners. Leveraging these existing amenities, the City of Everett Parks and Facilities <br />department endeavors to create its first nature fitness trail at Hannabrook Park. This park <br />improvement will be realized, in part, with the support of Snohomish County through <br />REET 2 funding. <br />The anticipated start of construction is spring 2023 with completion prior to December <br />31, 2023. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled Hannabrook Park <br />Improvement Project, Fund 354, Program 085 to accumulate all costs for the project in <br />the amount of $110,000. <br />
