• <br /> • <br /> 11. <br /> (f) When transporting properly identified members of the Civilian Defense <br /> auxiliary group which has been established by the Federal Office of <br /> Civilian Defense, provided that such individuals are authorized to travel <br /> during periods of air raid alarm by the state or appropriate local <br /> civilian defense authorities, and. that thier duties can not be deferred <br /> until after the emergency without detriment to life, property or the <br /> public welfare. <br /> 7. EMERGENCY VEEI LE RRll TS. The written emergency vehicle permits referred to in <br /> subsection 5 of Section VI hereof, shall be displayed on the windshield of the vehicle, <br /> during and only during the period of air raid alarm and for such period thereafter <br /> as emergency traffic restrictions might otherwise limit the movement of such vehicles. <br /> Such permits shall be issued by or under the authority of the Executive Director, <br /> Washington State Defense Council, to cover such vehicles as are certified by civilian <br /> defense authorities to be necessary within their respective jurisdicp(tions to assure <br /> the proper conduct of the emergency operations described in subsection 6 of Section <br /> VI hereof. Such permits may be issued to officers or enlisted personnel of the <br /> United States Army or Navy, by or under the authority of the Commanding, General, <br /> Western Defense Command and Fourth Army, or the Commandant of the Thirteenth Naval <br /> District. All such civilian permits shall be subject to review and revocation by <br /> the issuing authority at any time. <br /> 8. PROCRDURE AND RECORDS. The Executive Director of Nashington State Defense <br /> Council shall prescribe the procedure to be followed and the records to be kept in <br /> connection with applications for and the issuance of emergency vehicle permits. <br /> The identifying insigne referred to in subsection 5 of Section VI,hereof, is covered <br /> by a design IZatent granted to the United States Office of Civilian Defense, and it <br /> can be made, sold, distributed and used only in accordance with regulations issued by <br /> the Director of the office of Civilian Defense. (See OCD Regulation No. 2, as amended) <br /> 9. PEDESThI.A.NS. All pedetrians within an area of air raid alarm shall immediately <br /> go to the nearest shelter and remain in such shelter until the period(df air <br /> raid alarm is ended, except the following persons when and to the extent that <br /> their duties require them to do otherwise. <br /> i / <br />
