Penske Truck Leasing-Proposed Service Facility,2410 Railway Ave,Everett,WA Mar.8,2019/Rev.Feb.25,2020
IGeotechnical Engineering Report P1493-T18
Development plans for this project include the construction of a (4)-Bay pre-engineered metal
I Service Facility with an office core and Wash Bay; an associated (2)-Lane, (3)-product(gas, diesel,
DEF) Fuel Island, and site pavement to support future site activity. If feasible, the project will
include underground stormwater quality vaults, underground fuel storage tanks, and sanitary
I sewer lines. Sewer lines are proposed to be directed first to the City of Everett pressure sewer main,
and in the future to a permanent public sanitary sewer system, to be installed to the east side of
Railway Avenue. We understand that the flood requirements will require raising site grades
I between 11/2 and 6 feet across the site including 41/2 to 51/2 feet across the planned office/service
building area.
I2.0 EXPLORATORY METHODS
We explored surface and subsurface conditions at the project site from December 10 to 12,2018,and
on March 25, 2019. Our exploration and evaluation program comprised the following elements:
• Surface reconnaissance of the site;
I • Fourteen auger boring explorations(designated B-1 through B-14), advanced from
December 10 to December 12, 2018 and on March 25, 2019; and
I • A review of published geologic and seismologic maps and literature.
Table 1 summarizes the approximate functional locations and termination depths of our subsurface
Iexplorations, and Figure 2 depicts their approximate relative locations. The following sections
describe the procedures used for excavation of the borings.
ITABLE 1
APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS AND DEPTHS OF EXPLORATIONS
I
Exploration Functional Location Termination
Depth
(feet)
B-1 Near SE corner of project area,±150 ft W of entrance gate at S end of site 261/2
I B-2 ±250 ft W of gravel extension of Railway Ave,±150 ft N of entrance gate 161/2
B-3 ±150 ft W of gravel extension of Railway Ave,±250 ft N of entrance gate 161h
B-4 ±125 ft W of gravel extension of Railway Ave,±160 ft N of entrance gate 161
IB-5 ±75 ft W of gravel extension of Railway Ave,±100 ft N of entrance gate 111/2B-6 ±75 ft W of gravel extension of Railway Ave,in NE corner of project area 111
B-7 ±75 ft S of gravel road,center of N part of site 111/2
IB-8 Near the center of the project area 111/2B-9 Southern third of W half of project area 111h
B-10 Central third of W half of project area 111/2
B-11 Northern third of W half of project area 111/2
I B-12 Near center of eastern half of proposed service bay footprint 511/2
B-13 Northwest corner of proposed service bay footprint 71
B-14 Near center of western half of proposed service bay footprint 511
The specific numbers and locations of our explorations were selected in relation to the existing site
features, under the constraints of surface access, underground utility conflicts, and budget
considerations.
I Migizi Group, Inc.
