Each pair shall <br /> 4 also contain a stranded copper drain wire and shall be individually shielded with <br /> 5 an aluminum polyester foil shield. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 8 20.3.GR8 <br /> 8 Construction Requirements <br /> 9 <br /> 10 8 20.3(14).GR8 <br /> 11 Signal Systems <br /> 12 <br /> 13 8 20.3(14),INST1.GR8 <br /> 14 Section 8-20.3(14) is supplemented with the following: <br /> 15 <br /> 16 CNH 8-20.3(14)C INDUCTION LOOPS.DOCX <br /> 17 8-20.3(14)C Induction Loop Vehicle Detectors <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Section 8-20.3(14)C is supplemented with the following: <br /> 20 <br /> 21 (******) <br /> 22 Induction loops shall be constructed as detailed in City of Everett Drawing Nos. <br /> 23 804, 805, 809, 810, and Section 8-20.3(14)C of the Standard Specifications with <br /> 24 the following modifications: <br /> 25 <br /> 26 1. The loop locations shall be marked on the pavement by the contractor <br /> 27 and approved by the engineer prior to sawcutting. At no point shall any <br /> 28 of the sawcuts pass closer than 2' to any utility cover. <br /> 29 2. Loop detector sealant shall be as shown in City of Everett Standard <br /> 30 Drawing 809, or as approved by the Engineer. <br /> 31 3. Rope is not required. <br /> 32 4. Loops shall not be installed in rainy weather or at temperatures below <br /> 33 40°. <br /> 34 5. Loops shall be placed in the sawcut in a clockwise direction. <br /> 35 6. The loop sealant shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> 36 recommendations. <br /> 37 7. Detector loop wire shall use 14 AWG stranded copper conductors, and <br /> 38 shall conform to IMSA Specification 51-7, with cross-linked polyethylene <br /> 39 (XLPE) insulation encased in a polyethylene outer jacket (PE tube). <br /> 40 8. The area around the conduit stub-out shall be patched with hot mix <br /> 41 asphalt concrete if it is greater than 2" in width. <br /> 42 9. The sawcuts shall be of uniform depth and any sharp edges, abrasions <br /> 43 or ridges shall be removed prior to placing the wire. <br /> 44 10. The sawcut depth shall be a minimum of 3'/z" and shall provide a <br /> 45 minimum of 2" cover above the loop wires. <br /> 46 11. The sawcut width shall be a minimum of 1/4"for the loop and 3/8"for the <br /> 47 home run. <br /> 48 12.
