Access parking space symbols, arrows, letters, bicycle lane symbols, and III 4 sharrows shall be Type D extruded plastic flat line. Spray Type D is not allowed. 5 6 8-22.3(1) Preliminary Spotting 7 8 Section 8-22.3(1) is supplemented with the following: 9 10 (******) 11 Contractor Surveying — Roadway Striping and Channelization 12 13 No survey control data or layout will be furnished by the Contracting Agency. 14 The Contractor shall be solely responsible for detailed documentation (records) 15 of all existing pavement markings and channelization in the field prior to grinding 16 operations. This work includes but is not limited to: field notes, sketches, offset 17 markings on curbs or staking if no curb exists. 18 19 The records and offset marking/staking shall be adequate to allow the pavement 20 markings to be reproduced to a level of accuracy shown below: 21 22 Lane widths ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) 23 Longitudinal location of arrows and letters ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) 24 Longitudinal location of stop lines ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) 111 25 Transverse location of arrows and letters ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) 26 Longitudinal location of transitions and tapers±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) 27 Pavement marking starts and stops ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) I 28 29 The Contractor shall provide copies of any calculations, notes, and layout data 30 to the Engineer, or their assigned representative, prior to grinding. The 31 Contracting Agency will review the provided data, check the existing layout and 32 provide revisions as necessary for establishment of lane widths, arrow and letter 33 locations, tapers, transitions, other modifications, and pavement seams. The 34 Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the date the 35 data is received to conduct this review. No pavement grinding will be allowed 36 before this review is complete. The Contractor will make adjustments to the curb 37 marking and stakes to match the revisions prior to grinding. I 38 39 Based on these records and/or the offset staking, the Contractor shall perform 40 all field marking and preliminary spotting for all pavement marking and 41 channelization following grinding operations, for temporary only. The 42 Contracting Agency shall perform all field marking for permanent pavement 43 marking and channelization.All calculations, surveying, and measuring required I 44 for setting and maintaining the necessary lines for the temporary pavement 45 marking shall be the Contractor's responsibility. 46 I 47 Preliminary spotting shall be provided at a spacing of 40 foot maximum on 48 tangents and 25 foot maximum on curves and tapers.
