Spray Type D is not allowed. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 8-22.3(1) Preliminary Spotting <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Section 8-22.3(1) is supplemented with the following: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 (******) <br /> 11 Contractor Surveying — Roadway Striping and Channelization <br /> 12 <br /> 13 No survey control data or layout will be furnished by the Contracting Agency. <br /> 14 The Contractor shall be solely responsible for detailed documentation (records) <br /> 15 of all existing pavement markings and channelization in the field prior to grinding <br /> 16 operations. This work includes but is not limited to: field notes, sketches, offset <br /> 17 markings on curbs or staking if no curb exists. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 The records and offset marking/staking shall be adequate to allow the pavement <br /> 20 markings to be reproduced to a level of accuracy shown below: <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Lane widths ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) <br /> 23 Longitudinal location of arrows and letters ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 24 Longitudinal location of stop lines ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 111 <br /> 25 Transverse location of arrows and letters ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) <br /> 26 Longitudinal location of transitions and tapers±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 27 Pavement marking starts and stops ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) I <br /> 28 <br /> 29 The Contractor shall provide copies of any calculations, notes, and layout data <br /> 30 to the Engineer, or their assigned representative, prior to grinding. The <br /> 31 Contracting Agency will review the provided data, check the existing layout and <br /> 32 provide revisions as necessary for establishment of lane widths, arrow and letter <br /> 33 locations, tapers, transitions, other modifications, and pavement seams. The <br /> 34 Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the date the <br /> 35 data is received to conduct this review. No pavement grinding will be allowed <br /> 36 before this review is complete. The Contractor will make adjustments to the curb <br /> 37 marking and stakes to match the revisions prior to grinding. I <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Based on these records and/or the offset staking, the Contractor shall perform <br /> 40 all field marking and preliminary spotting for all pavement marking and <br /> 41 channelization following grinding operations, for temporary only. The <br /> 42 Contracting Agency shall perform all field marking for permanent pavement <br /> 43 marking and channelization.All calculations, surveying, and measuring required I <br /> 44 for setting and maintaining the necessary lines for the temporary pavement <br /> 45 marking shall be the Contractor's responsibility. <br /> 46 I <br /> 47 Preliminary spotting shall be provided at a spacing of 40 foot maximum on <br /> 48 tangents and 25 foot maximum on curves and tapers.
