Structural calculations prepared, stamped, and signed by licensed professional <br /> engineer for cutting and patching effecting existing structural elements. Include for <br /> additional reinforcement, shoring, and integration of new structural elements into <br /> existing in-place construction not shown on Contract Drawings. Review is required <br /> by Professional Engineer of Record. <br /> B. Owner reserves right to reject unsatisfactory cutting and patching and to require removal <br /> and replacement with new work despite acceptance of Cutting and Patching Plan. <br /> 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Qualifications: <br /> 1. Where possible, retain original installers and fabricators, for cutting and patching <br /> of construction of acceptable workmanship. <br /> 2. Where original installers and fabricators are unavailable, employ another <br /> recognized, experienced, and specialized firm, skilled and experienced in <br /> workmanship required to perform cutting and patching procedures. <br /> a. Conform to qualifications for Sections specifying materials and systems <br /> being cut and patched. <br /> b. Submit satisfactory evidence documenting experience and qualifications for <br /> projects of equivalent quality and scope upon request by Architect. <br /> 3. Where original work required specialists or a specific trade, execute cutting and <br /> patching utilizing same specialist or trade, except where conditions are such that <br /> another specialist or trade is better suited due to perform the work. <br /> B. Visual Requirements: <br /> 1. Perform cutting and patching in manner as accepted by Architect to maintain <br /> aesthetic qualities. <br /> 2. Cut and patch in manner so as to leave no visual evidence. <br /> C. Structural Elements: Where cutting is required for installation of subsequent work, verify <br /> in writing from Architect and obtain direction prior to proceeding. <br /> 1. Cut and patch in ways that will not affect load-carrying capacities and load- <br /> deflection ratios. <br /> 2. Plan and engineer cutting and patching, including for following. <br /> a. Foundation construction. <br /> b. Bearing and retaining walls. <br /> c. Structural concrete. <br /> d. Structural steel. <br /> e. Miscellaneous structural metal fabrications. <br /> f.
