City of Everett 31 00 00 - 1 <br /> Inductive Charging Infrastructure for Everett Transit <br /> SECTION 31 00 00- EARTHWORK <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 DESCRIPTION <br /> A. This work includes site stripping and excavation, embankment, grading, earthwork for <br /> structures and foundations, earthwork for utilities, compaction, and disposing of <br /> excavated material. <br /> 1.2 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br /> A. All work to be performed and materials to be used shall be in accordance with the latest <br /> version of the Standard Specifications and Standard Plans for Road, Bridge and <br /> Municipal Construction, as published by the Washington State Department of <br /> Transportation (WSDOT), unless otherwise indicated herein. <br /> B. The Contractor shall have one copy of the Standard Specifications at the job site. <br /> C. The Standard Specifications apply only to performance and materials and how they are <br /> to be incorporated into the work. The legal/contractual relationship sections and the <br /> measurement and payment sections do not apply to this document. <br /> 1.3 QUALITY CONTROL <br /> A. Soil Testing <br /> 1. The Owner will engage a Geotechnical Consultant to test soil materials proposed for <br /> use in the work and for quality control testing during excavation and fill operations. <br /> 2. Samples of materials shall be furnished to the Geotechnical Consultant by the <br /> Contractor at least two weeks before their anticipated use. <br /> 3. Under this contract, smooth out areas for density tests and otherwise facilitate testing <br /> work as directed. <br /> B. Shoring Systems: Pre-engineered systems, cleared labeled as such, may be used. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 STRUCTURAL FILL <br /> A. Structural fill shall be imported well graded granular material free of organics and debris. <br /> Maximum particle size 4 inches and no more than 5 percent fines (material passing No. <br /> 200 sieve). <br /> 2.2 NONSTRUCTURAL FILL <br /> A. Nonstructural fill shall be on-site or imported well-graded granular material free of <br /> organics and debris. Maximum particle size 4 inches and no more than 30 percent fines <br /> (material passing No. 200 sieve). Material shall be capable of being compacted as <br /> specified under the weather conditions prevailing at time of construction. <br /> 31 00 00 - 1 EARTHWORK <br />
