•
. ad
RichardsMr Paul Rich Architecture and
Plan Check Number: BW2001-004Planning, First Building Review
March 17, 2020
6. Continuing with the previous comment, both M-occupancy spaces are anticipated to have
egress routes exceeding 75 feet. Two exists will be required per IBC Section 1006.2.1. The
following comments should be addressed:
a. Additional intermediate exit signs may be required due to inadequate line-of-sight visibility.
See IBC Section 1013.1.
b. The exits should be provided with exterior egress lighting with a minimum 90-minute back-
up power. See IBC Sections 1008.3.2(5) and 1008.3.4.
7. Sheet G0.1 includes emergency egress lighting throughout the building. The lighting should be
provided with a minimum 90-minute back-up power. See IBC Section 1008.3.4.
8. The north M-occupancy space in "Building A"appears to provide two exits on the north
side. The separation distance of the doors from the main grocery space is less than 1/2 the
diagonal of this space. An alternate second door should be provided. See IBC Section
1007.1.1.
This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and
amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made
during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit
requirements. The designers-of-record are responsible for a complete design in accordance with
the laws of the state of Washington.
If you have any questions or require additional clarification, please contact us.
Respectfully,
Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
Associate Engineer/ Commercial Plans Examiner
(425)257-8813
dmartin@everettwa.gov
S:\BMartin\2020\BW2001-004_R1.docx
O 3200 Cedar Street CD
425.257.8810 0 everetteps@everettwa.gov
Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 3 of
