Continuous Holdown Rod Systems
ii. Prefabricated Decks
iii. Steel Stairs
iv. Canopies
4. Section 03101 "Concrete Wall Reinforcement"of the Structural Notes on Sheet A2.01 specifies
typical reinforcement for the concrete walls. The reinforcement is specified for wall thicknesses
from 6 inches to 12 inches. However, only 8- and 10-inch walls appear to be specified in the
drawings. In addition, the Level P2 Foundation Plan on Sheet S2.00 at Grid D/1-2 specifies an
18-inch shear wall. The reinforcement requirements shall be revised. See IBC Section 107.2.1
and 1901.5 Item 3.
5. Section 03101 "Concrete Wall Reinforcement"of the Structural Notes on Sheet A2.01 specifies
typical reinforcement around openings in the concrete walls. Typical reinforcement is also
specified in Detail 16/S6.00 that appears to conflict with Section 03101. Notable examples
include, but are not limited to, the length of the top and bottom reinforcement, and the number
and length of corner bars. The drawings shall be revised for consistency; see also Detail
1/S6.00. See IBC Section 107.2.1 and 1901.5 Item 3.
6. Section 03120"Concrete — Durability Requirements (Residential)"of the Structural Notes on
Sheet S1.01 references IBC Section 1904.3. Section 1904.3 is not include in the 2015 IBC. The
requirements are potentially conflicting the with concrete strengths specified in Structural Notes
Section 03100 and shall be removed. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1901.5 Item 1.
7. The structural plans and elevations on Sheets S2.00 through S2.07, S3.00, and S4.01 appear to
have been generated using building information modeling (BIM) software. The drawings
contain undefined and potentially erroneous information and conditions. Examples include
numerous bold lines throughout the slabs and walls, apparent steps in the slabs, apparent
breaks openings and gaps in the walls, cold joints between the walls, slabs, and columns, and
diagonal wall hatching. The drawings also include normal and light linework that cannot clearly
be distinguished to be structural work and non-structural background information. Concrete
and masonry walls appear to overlap. Heavy lines for slab reinforcement cannot be clearly
distinguished from other undefined linework. The drawings shall be revised to clearly indicated
the intended construction. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1.
8. The thickness of the concrete walls throughout the building are not clearly defined. Wall
thicknesses only appear to be specified in the Foundation Plan on Sheet S2.00. Foundation
Note 5 specifies the typical wall thickness as 8 inches. However, The Level P2 plan appears to
indicate 10-inch walls throughout, except for an 18-inch wall at Grid D/1-2 and 8-inch walls at
Grid 4/E-F. The drawings appear to specify the wall thickness in a "diamond"-shaped marker,
but do not clearly define this marker. Some additional wall thickness marks appear to be
provided in the elevations on Sheet S4.01. The drawings shall be revised to clearly specify the
required wall construction.
