Y • • 3
•
5. Floor/ceiling assembly FW-6/A-9.1 requires proprietary gypsum floor topping, Levelrock
brand floor underlayment and Type C GWB per listing GA File No. FC 5011.
6. Two-hour wall type C-1-7 is shown for the stair enclosures on PL 2 and the 1st floor and
the elevator shaft on the 2nd floor, however the wall type is not provided on the A-9.x
sheets.
7. The wall callout M-1-5 for the trash chute detail on Sheet A-10.2 should be revised to a
two-hour wall type. Section 713.4
8. The trash room should be shown surrounded by minimum two-hour walls and 90-minute
openings (including the coiling door). Section 713.13.4
9. Please provide a detail showing the continuous two-hour shaft construction (elevators,
stairs and mechanical) per Section 707.5:
a. Through or abutting a one-hour floor/ceiling assembly.
b. Fire-stopped or jointed at a concrete floor/ceiling assembly.
c. Continuous to the underside of the roof sheathing.
10.The plans should note that the exhaust fans in the dwelling units will be provided with
ceiling radiation dampers. Section 717.6.2.1
11. If insulation is provided within the roof assembly cavities as shown on Sheets A-8.x, the
result is that the insulation must be lowered a minimum of 1"(as long as the listing allows
it) and the resultant 1"attic space must then be ventilated. Section 1203.2 (or exceptions
per 1203.3)
Egress
1. Because it only joins two floors, Stair C is not an interior exit stairway (rated) but an exit
access stairway (no fire-rating required) that provides a means of egress from Level P2
up and through Level P1:
a. A barrier should be provided within the stairway to prevent persons from trying to
exit through to the lower P2 floor. Section 1023.8
b. For clarity, exit door P108 should have a revised nomenclature on the plans to
confirm it is a door (appears to be a window).
c. The exit sign at door P1-SC into Stair C from Level P1 should be removed. Section
1013
d. An exit sign and egress lighting should be provided at exterior exit door P108.
Section 1013
2. The occupant load of Level P1 is greater than 10 persons and therefore the coiling garage
doors may not be used as part of the required means of egress per Section 1010.2:
a. The NE corner of the garage has an occupant load less than 29 and the common
path of travel is less than 100' and therefore complies.
