under R406.3.5 (attached), additions less than or equal to 500 square feet need to have 1.5 fuel <br /> normalization credits. Per Table R406.3 (attached) the following items will be done to earn the <br /> 1.5 credits. <br /> - 1.2 Prescriptive compliance is based on Table R402.1.1 with the following modifications: <br /> Vertical fenestration U=0.20 = 1 Credit <br /> - 2.1 All whole house ventilation requirements as determined by Section M1507.3 of the <br /> International Residential Code or Section 403.8 of the International Mechanical Code <br /> shall be met with a heat recovery ventilation system with minimum sensible heat <br /> recovery efficiency of 0.75. <br /> We will use Section M1507.3 of the International Residential Code, see note on Sheet <br /> A1.2, Section 3 = 0.5 Credits <br /> Structural <br /> 1. See Sheet A1.2. It appears that the Existing First Floor Plan shows new framing. It is unclear if <br /> the (3) 1 3/4"x 7 1/4"LVL is existing or new. Also, plans specify (2) 2'x8's and (2) 2'x4'. It <br /> appears that (2) 2x8 and (2) 2x4 were to be specified. Please update plans as necessary. <br /> See the revised set of plans with the sheets correctly labeled. <br /> 2. See Sheet A1.3. Framing should be labeled as either new or existing when specifying framing <br /> members in the Partial Second Floor Plan. For example, plans should specify if the (2) 1 3/4"x11 <br /> 7/8" LVL beam located in "Katie's Room"is existing or new. <br /> See the revised set of plans correctly indicating whether the framing is new or existing. <br /> 3. Continuing from the previous comment, it is unclear if the existing rafters are remaining or <br /> being replaced in`Katie's Room". <br /> See the revised set of plans indicating the existing rafters are to be replaced. <br /> 4. See Sheet A1.3 and Structural Sketch Roof Framing Plan. Plans should specify connection of <br /> existing framing to new framing. For example, the type of Simpson hanger connecting ceiling <br /> joists to new beam. <br /> See the revised set of plans with Sheet S1.0 general structural notes indicating the use of <br /> LUS series hangers for 2x joists. <br /> 5. Continuing from the previous comment, it is unclear how existing ceiling joists are being <br /> connected to new ceiling joists. Also, how ceiling joists are connected to new roof rafters. See <br /> call outs in the section on Sheet A1.3. <br />
