In case carbon <br /> deposit shall form within Acro ( 2) feet of the nozzle of <br /> the oil burner, such carbon deposit shall be immediately <br /> i'k removed and the cause thereof corrected. <br /> ( i ) It shall be unlawful to use or cause to <br /> be used any oil burning equipment that has become unsafe, <br /> or is in imminent danger of becoming so . <br /> ,section 15: FEES AND EXPIRATION OF CERTIFICATES: <br /> No Certificate of Approval as provided for in :section 2 of this <br /> Ordinance shall be issued by the mire Chief, until the applicant <br /> therefor shall first pay as fees to the ,. ity Treasurer of the <br /> , . ity of C;verett the sum of : 25.e0�; provided all certificates <br /> issue un or is or inanee sna expire on the 31st day of <br /> December of the year issued, and provided further that no <br /> person, company or corporation engaged in selling oil burners <br /> t, and equipment in the City of : verett shall be required to pay <br /> more than 25.0 u0 in any year for each place of business <br /> maintained by such person, firm or corporation for the sale <br /> of oil burners or equipment . <br /> ( a) No installation permit of approval, as <br /> provided for in section 2 of this Ordinance, shall be issued <br /> by the _'ire chief until the applicant therefor shall first <br /> pay as fees to the City ereasurer of the city of .nverett <br /> the sum of One Joliar ( $1.00 ) . nxcept, that this installa- <br /> tion permit of approval shall be issued without the payment <br /> of fee for all oil burner installations installed prior to <br /> the passage of this ordinance . <br /> ik section 16: Wherever reference is made to <br /> Ne authority by term "Fire chief" or "Chief of Jire Department" <br /> it is the intent of this ordinance to mean "Fire chief or <br /> his duly aut on zed assistants. <br /> (a) she Eire �. hief, or his duly authorized <br /> agents or assistants, shall have the right to enter upon <br /> the premises in which an oil burner has been, or is being <br /> installed at all reasonable hours to ascertain whether the <br /> provisions of this or any other ordinance in regard to <br /> oil burners and/or oil burning equipment, have been complied <br /> with. <br /> Aetion 17: Any Person feeling aggrieved by the <br /> refusal of the ire Chief to issue a Oertifidate of Approval <br /> when applied for, as herein-before provided, may within seven <br /> (7 ) days from the time of such refusal, appeal from such <br /> decision of the fire Chief, to the city Council of theCity <br /> of -.verett . 2he said amity Council shall thereupon investi- <br /> gate, and by motion confirm or reverse the action of the <br /> Fire Chief in said matter, which said action of the City <br /> Council shall be final and binding upon all parties concerned. <br /> section 18: Any person, violating any provisi•n <br /> of this ordinance, either in installing or maintaining an <br /> oil burner and/or oil burning equipment, shall be deemed <br /> guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall <br /> be fined not less than Con Dollars ( 10.00) , nor more than <br /> hree ' undred collars ( 300.00) , for each and every violation <br /> thereof, and upon failure to pay sane shall be imprisoned <br /> , ° in the City Jail one day for every 'Chree Dollars ( 3.00 ) <br /> v of such fine . <br /> -10- 7% <br />
