(a) No oil shall be placed in any tank connect- <br /> ed to any oil turner or oil burning equipment, until such <br /> tank has been duly inspected and approved by the Chief of <br /> the Fire Lepartment , and a permit thereto has been issued by <br /> the 'ire Chief. <br /> (b) No oil company, distributor or agent of <br /> any oil company or distributor, shall place oil in any <br /> storage or supply tanks connected to any oil burner or oil <br /> burner equipment , where a permit of approval issued by the <br /> ire Jhief, cannot be shown. Number . of permit of approval <br /> shall be placed on sales or delivery slip or invoice <br /> and a record kept of same by the oil company, distributor, <br /> or agent of oil company or distributor, making such delivery <br /> of oil. <br /> (c ) Oil storage and supply tanks connected <br /> to burners shall contain only that type of oil for the <br /> combustion of which the type of burner is designed by <br /> the manufacturer, c3 r as a«,•eptecl. by thQ Fi cis c+ti • <br /> ( d) No oil company, distributor, or agent of <br /> any oil company or distributor, shall place any oil in any <br /> storage of supply tanks connected to any oil burner or oil <br /> burning equipment other than that type of oil for the <br /> combustion of which the type burner is designed by the <br /> manufacturer, CD PI ( ' E • <br /> (e ) ;except when installed in one and two <br /> family residences, it shall be the duty of the person in <br /> charge of every oil burner used to heat air or water, to <br /> inspect the oil burner while same is in operation, and the <br /> fire box in which installed, at least twice ( 2) in each <br /> twenty-four hour period. <br /> (f) Complete legible instructions for correct- <br /> ly operating and maintaining oil burning equipment , shall be <br /> posted at all times in the room containing the oil burner, <br /> with the principal directions for proper operation and main- <br /> tenance shown in bold face type in concise non-technical <br /> terms. these instruction sheets shall be subject to the <br /> approval of the Fire Chief and shall include instructions <br /> for proving the correct operation of all important parts <br /> while in srvice . <br /> (g ) It shall be the duty of the person in <br /> charge of every oil burner installed in any building to <br /> inspect and maintain the equipment for proper operation <br /> free from unnecessary fire hazard or other dangerous <br /> conditions and to have necessary adjustments made by a <br /> competent person, and no other duties shall interfere with <br /> such attention as often as required by the nature of the <br /> installation and the working; conditions. <br /> (h) It shall be the duty of the person in <br /> charge of every oil burner installed in any building, to <br /> allow no accumulation or leakage of oil in the furnace <br /> pit or in the fire box, or on the basement or boiler room <br /> floor; to keep the nozzle of the oil burner clean and <br /> free from carbon and dirt ; to keep the fire box free <br /> from excessive deposits or carbon; to keep oil piping <br /> through which oil is delivered from the oil storage tank to <br /> the burner absolutely tight, and free from oil leaks, <br />
