. . • ♦ <br /> a <br /> Section 11: Every automatic oil burner <br /> used in connection with hot water, steam or warm air heating <br /> systems shall be equipped with an automatic device to reduce <br /> or extinguish the fire in event of undue pressure or over- <br /> heating within the boiler or furnace . <br /> Oil burners subject to automatic ignition shall be <br /> provided with a permanent automatic device, so designed that <br /> all oil upon being turned into the combustion chamber, will <br /> quickly become ignited or shut off. <br /> All automatic devices shall be constructed of <br /> proper strength and materials to minimize the liability to <br /> failure, breakage or other accident or injury, and every <br /> automatic controlling or protective device shall be provided <br /> with substantial means for manually testing same to ascertain i <br /> its proper operating condition. <br /> Section 12: Burners containing chambers which <br /> allow a dangerous accumulation of gases, or containing oil <br /> conveying pipes or parts subject to intense heat, are <br /> prohibited. <br /> Burners shall be designed so that they can be <br /> easily cleaned and so as to minimize the possibility of <br /> oil leakage. <br /> Electrical installations used in connection with <br /> oil burning equipment shall be installed in accordance with <br /> the existing ordinances of the city of Everett . <br /> Section 13: No oil burner shall be installed in <br /> . connection with any boiler or heater unless said boiler or <br /> heater is connected with a chimney having sufficient draft <br /> to insure the safe operation of the burner, nor unless the <br /> room containing the boiler or heater is provided with ade- <br /> quate ventilation, which cannot be closed, to assure <br /> continuous complete combustion, which ventilation shall be <br /> by means other than doorways. <br /> No dampers shall be installed or used in a smoke- <br /> pipe between the burner and chimney and any regulation or <br /> draft necessary shall be accomplished through the dampers <br /> in front only. When no increase in fire or explosion <br /> hazard will be caused, air inlets to chimneys may be p5 r- <br /> mitted by the wire Chief. <br /> No oil burner shall be installed or used in <br /> connection with any steam or hot water boiler or warm air <br /> furnace unless the boiler or furnace is enclosed as <br /> required by the Building Code. <br /> Section 14: Oil burners and oil burning equip- <br /> ment shall be operated and maintained in accordance with the <br /> following provisions: <br /> -g- <br /> k <br />
