Category 1: Public Information
Assumptions:
NSD will prepare a draft field plan, including list of field sites to be visited, and submit
these to the City prior to the end of Task 5; NSD will then incorporate City feedback
before implementation.
The City will coordinate all landowner outreach and permission acquisition. No
landowner nor stakeholder outreach will be conducted by NSD.
Deliverables:
Up to one (1) draft and one (1) final written Field Plan memo, including list of field sites
to be visited and rationale. Includes brief discussion with City on what sites were
selected and why.
ESRI Field Maps template for field data collection, built from existing City templates
where appropriate.
Budget: $6,002
Task 6: Fieldwork and Data Processing
Fieldwork will be conducted for up to eight (8)10-hour days and will consist of (1) ground
truthing data derived from Phase I and (2) collecting additional Level A and B Assessment data
needed to fill lingering gaps in site conditions or structure passability:
(1) Ground truthing of Phase I data will consist of collecting channel and floodplain widths
and slope along flow paths at representative areas throughout City limits, which will
support the characterization of accuracy produced during Phase I watershed modeling.
(2) Additional data gaps that will be captured if necessary include Level A and B Assessment
data such as physical structure and channel measurements for determining site
passability.
Fieldwork will be conducted at sites and adjacent habitat areas with the highest identified needs
as identified in Task 5. The extent of fieldwork will be commensurate with the total budgeted
task amount. NSD will work with the City to maximize the area and number of crossings that can
be accomplished within the task budget.
Field data will be collected and stored in an organized format and backed up regularly after each
field visit. Field data will be organized and packaged for delivery to the City. Any data that
directly affect the prioritization framework developed in Phase I will be used to update the fish
passage barrier prioritization table.
Assumptions:
Not all field sites identified within the City’s fish passage inventory will be visited or
assessed.
Fish passability scores are not guaranteed upon each site visit depending on what
complexities exist at each site. Some complexities may necessitate additional engineer
review, CCTV/video scans, and/or hydraulic modeling to determine fish passability,
which is not included in this scope of work.
