However, the submitted documents are not
sufficiently developed for us to perform a comprehensive review at this time.
Construction -level documents should be submitted for review. Two complete sets of the revised drawings
should be submitted to replace the previously submitted drawing sets. Preliminary comments are provided
below to assist in preparing the drawings, but these are not intended to provide a comprehensive review. The
resubmittal documents should include an itemized response letter clarifying how the review comments below
have been addressed.
Intake Review Comments:
1. Drawings for the interior design prepared by the architect have been submitted. Mechanical drawings
are required to be submitted in order to issue a mechanical permit. Please submit drawings showing
the proposed mechanical work.
2. The drawings should include a schedule of all equipment proposed in the project. Weights for each
unit should be specified. Where new units are replacing old units, the weights of both the old and new
units should be specified.
3. If installation of new units requires substantial structural modifications to the supporting framing, a
building permit will be required. The application should include drawings and calculations for the
proposed modifications. Minor modifications (e.g., blocking between existing framing, curbs,
sheathing penetrations that do not cut framing members) may be performed within the scope of the
mechanical permit application.
4. If the new units are suspended, details and calculations for the gravity supports and lateral bracing of
the unit is required if it exceeds 20 lbs. See IBC Section 1613.1 and ASCE 7-16 Chapter 13.
5. Details will be required when penetrating fire -rated assemblies; the applicant is responsible to
evaluate the building and determine the Construction Type of the building per IBC Section 601, and the
locations and ratings of assemblies. Penetration details should be provided for the rated assemblies
per IBC Chapter 7.
Review of your project will be performed in the order received once the required documentation has been
submitted. Please let me know if you have questions.
— Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
Associate Engineer —Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/T: 8 am - 12 pm & 1 pm — 3 pm; Tu: 1:00pm-3:00pm
