A minimum 1" air gap should be provided between the insulation and roof sheathing per <br />Section R806.3. <br />14. See whole house ventilation notes on Sheet 8. References should be updated to reference the <br />current 2018 IRC. Revise plans as follows. <br />a. Plans should clearly specify the whole house ventilation system. See Section <br />1505.4.1 of the 2018 IRC. <br />i. Whole -House Ventilation using Exhaust Fans. M1505.4.1.2 <br />ii. Whole -House Ventilation using Supply Fans. M1505.4.1.3 <br />iii. Whole -House Ventilation System, balanced. M1505.4.1.4 <br />iv. Whole -House Ventilation using Furnace Integrated Supply. M1505.4.1.5 <br />b. Plans should specify the mechanical ventilation airflow rate cfm, continuous or <br />intermittent per the current 2018 IRC code requirement. M1505.4.3 <br />c. The location of the whole house vent should be specified on the plans. The system <br />should be located in a central area that is open to and has unobstructed air flow with <br />the majority of the habitable space.
