City of Everett Point Industrial Center (EPIC) Bridge Project

• Infiltration Screening: HWA will screen the soils and groundwater conditions for
infiltration potential along the project corridor. This screening will include evaluating
soil grain size analysis and groundwater data. No pilot infiltration testing will be
conducted as part of this scope of work.

• Slope Stabilization Design: HWA will provide design recommendations for slope
stabilization systems along the western steep slope.

• Approach Pavement Design: HWA will provide pavement design recommendations
for the two bridge approaches.

• HWA QA/QC: HWA will have all design calculations and recommendations reviewed
by a senior principal prior to distribution to the design team or the AGENCY.

• Prepare Draft Geotechnical Engineering Report: HWA will prepare a draft
geotechnical engineering report for the project. This report will contain the results of
the geotechnical engineering investigation, including a description of surface and
subsurface conditions; a site plan showing exploration locations and other pertinent
features; a summary of boring logs; and laboratory test results. The report will provide
geotechnical recommendations for each of the proposed improvements.

Deliverables:
• Exploration Plan
• Draft Geotechnical Report
Assumptions:
• All drilling spoils will be drummed and stored at the AGENCY facility until such time as
environmental testing results are available. Once environmental testing results are
available, the driller will dispose of the soil at an appropriate disposal facility.

• HWA assumes that they will attend 12 project coordination meetings other than the kickoff
meeting. All meetings are assumed to be virtual.

• All Field explorations will be conducted between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. HWA
assumes that the establishment of traffic control will also abide by these hours.

• All required rights of entry will be provided by the AGENCY or CONSULTANT at no
cost to HWA.

• The borehole locations will be surveyed by others.

Exhibit A
