Amendment 1 PSA with Brown and Caldwell for Port Gardner Storage Facility Project <br />Exhibit A Scope of Work <br />29 <br />• Task X04 – External Meetings/Workshops <br />− 8 workshops during intermediate design which include: <br />▪ Intermediate design review <br />▪ Intermediate design cost and schedule review <br />▪ Design progress updates on specific topics <br />− 6 workshops during final design which include: <br />▪ Final design review <br />▪ Final design cost and schedule review <br />▪ Design progress updates on specific topics <br />− 1 workshop during bid documents: <br />▪ Bid documents design review. <br />− Value engineering workshop with City is included in Task 508 <br />• Task X05 – Internal Meetings <br />− Biweekly internal design coordination meetings <br />• Task X06 – Construction Cost and Schedule Estimate <br />− Develop cost estimates and update Basis of Estimate reports for the following phases of the <br />PGSF design packages: <br />▪ Intermediate design – AACEI Class 2 <br />▪ Final design – AACEI Class 1 <br />▪ Bid docs – Update Final design AACEI Class 1 <br />− Provide comparisons and evaluations of cost estimates relative to previous estimates. <br />− Construction schedule estimate will be prepared in conjunction with cost estimates and used <br />to predict construction completion date and inform Div 00/01 requirements. Schedule <br />estimate will not be for the contractor’s use. Conduct workshops to discuss cost and <br />schedules estimates (see Tasks X04). <br />• Task X07 – Constructability <br />− Two construction SMEs from BC’s integrated project delivery branch will review the <br />intermediate and final design packages to identify constructability issues and provide <br />possible solutions for the design team to evaluate. <br />• Task 508 – 30% Value Engineering Review (Optional) <br />− BC will assemble a VE team of 6 senior SMEs independent of the core project design team <br />including a team coordinator and a cost estimator. <br />− A VE study will be conducted using a modified version of the EPA Value Engineering for <br />Wastewater Treatment Works (September 1984) including pre-workshop preparation, a <br />three-day VE workshop, and post-workshop procedures. <br />− Pre-workshop preparation activities will include: <br />▪ Selecting VE team members and team coordinator. <br />▪ Gathering and reviewing background information. <br />▪ Meeting with City to review VE workshop format and receive City input on suggested <br />constraints and focus areas for the VE team.
