• <br /> Section 26 - Two or More Customers in One Building <br /> Where a building is occupied by more than one family, or by a store and <br /> a family, the flat rate charges for water will be the same as if each tenant <br /> occupied a separate building. Provided, however, that the owner of said prem- <br /> ises may, et his option, pay the flat rate charges or he may pay to the Water <br /> Department the cost of installing a water meter at said premises and there- <br /> after pay for water at the established meter rates . <br /> Section 27 - Building Construction <br /> Water for building purposes will be charged for at the following rates: <br /> Lime 150 per barrel, Cement 100 per barrel for the first 100 barrels, over <br /> 100 barrels at 5¢ per barrel . If the owner does not produce receipts of the <br /> total quantity of building material used, the Water Superintendent shall es- <br /> timate the amount of material used and this amount shall be charged against <br /> the property and must be paid before water is turned on for domestic purposes . <br /> Section 28 - Deposit by Contractors <br /> Whenever in the judgment of the Superintendent it may be necessary to <br /> protect the Water Department from loss, a deposit may be required sufficient <br /> in amount to cover the value of not more than three month's estimated use of <br /> water by meter, to be returned when the use of water is discontinued and all <br /> arrears are paid. <br /> Section 29 - Permits <br /> No person shall make connection to, or alterations in, any pipe whereby <br /> water may be drawn from the City mains , or taking water from any fire hydrant, <br /> bibb, pipe, or fixture of any kind without first having secured a permit for <br /> the same from the Water Department . <br /> Section 30 - Special. Permits <br /> Permits for sprinkling, private hydrants, irrigation, hose connections, <br /> closets or bath tubs, will be granted only to parties paying for use of water <br /> on their premises for other purposes . <br /> Section 31 - Sprinkler Systems <br /> Water for standpipes and automatic sprinklers services for fire protec- <br /> tion shall be supplied only through an approved fire service meter. Water <br /> shall not be introduced into any premises without application of the property <br /> -13- <br />
