• <br /> Section 43 - Condemned Buildings <br /> Whenever the building inspector shall report in writing to the Water Sup- <br /> erintendent that any building has been condemned by him as a structure not <br /> habitable and dangerous to human life, and whenever the Health Officer shall <br /> report in like manner to said Superintendent that any building has been con- <br /> demned by him as unsanitary and not fit for human habitation, said Superinten- <br /> dent shall at once shut off the water from said building, and not permit it to <br /> be turned on again until the building has been made safe or sanitary, as the <br /> case may be , which conditions must be reported to the Superintendent by the <br /> Building Inspector or Health Officer as soon as it exists . <br /> Section 44 - On and Off Order <br /> Should it be desired to have the water turned on after it has been shut <br /> off , or where new services have been put in and plumbing is completed , a writ- <br /> ten order by the owner or his authorized agent must be given to the Water De- <br /> partment , after which the water will be turned on, providing there are no de- <br /> fective or leaky faucets, closets or fixtures, and when such may be discovered, <br /> the water will be shut off. <br /> Section 45 - Rates for Eleemosynary Institutions <br /> That all eleemosynary institutions and hospitals of more than twenty (20) <br /> beds shall be charged one-half of the regular metered rate. This rate does <br /> not apply when a building is occupied by two or more tenants, unless the or- <br /> ganization entitled to the reduced rate has a separate service. <br /> Section 46 - Meters Supplying Domestic, Commercial , Manufacturing and <br /> Fire Service Lines <br /> For the purpose of these rules and regulations, a 2" service is considered <br /> the maximum standard size for domestic, commercial and manufacturing uses. Ser- <br /> vices larger than 2" shall be considered fire protection services . The owner of <br /> the property shall pay the cost of meter, material and labor used in installing <br /> fire service lines . The meter, pipe and appurtenances to the main shall be <br /> maintained by the Water Department , as set forth in Section 19 . <br /> The City shall credit to the cost of a fire protection service a sum equal <br /> to the cost of a 2" meter . • <br /> The estimated cost of said installation shall be deposited with the Water <br /> -18- <br />
