• a <br /> • <br /> JUNK DEALERS, SECOND-HAND DEALERS AND <br /> ` PAWNBROKERS <br /> Section No person shall engage in the business of deal- <br /> ing in junk, or second-hand goods and merchandise, except second- <br /> - hand furniture, or engage in the business of pawnbroker in the city <br /> of Everett, without first obtaining a license therefor. <br /> Section;-. _ - For the purpose of this ordinance and other <br /> ordinances r'elat ng to the above named dealers, any person erg aged in <br /> the business of dealing in second-hand goods, wares, and merchandise, <br /> except second-hand furniture, or engaged in the business of dealing <br /> in junk of any kind, shall be deemed a second-hand dealer, whether <br /> engaged in such business in whole or in part; and for such purposes <br /> any person whose business or occupation in whole or in part is to take <br /> or receive by pledge, pawn, or exha.nge, any goods, wares, or mer - <br /> chandise, or any kind or personal property whatsoever, for the <br /> security of any money ;Lent thereon, shall be deemed a pawnbroker . <br /> SeetionL;z17- --Any person desiring to secure any of the <br /> licenses named /A rein shall first make written application to the <br /> commissioner of safety of said city, describing the premises by <br /> street and number where said business is to be carried on, and such <br /> other information as said commissioner may require. If satisfied <br /> that a license should be issued to the applicant, said commissioner <br /> shall give his written consent, addressed to the city clerk, permit- <br /> ting the granting of ,such license. <br /> aectio: Before any such license shall be issued the <br /> applicant or app icants shall execute a bond to the city of Everett <br /> in the penal sum of one thousand (41000.00) Dollars, with securities <br /> to be approved by the Mayor of said city, conditioned that such <br /> applicant or applicants will, in all respects, comply with and <br /> faithfully perform all the provisions of this ordinance, of Ordinance <br /> No. 1449, and all other ordinances now or hereafter passed relating <br /> to the business conducted by such applicant under such license, and <br /> shall also pay to the city treasurer the amount of license fee here- <br /> inafter required of 10;4. <br /> Y' Section6 'he license fee of pawnbrokers is hereby fixed. <br /> at the sum of lorty (440.00) Dollars per annum; license fee of junk <br /> and second-hand dealers is hereby fixed at the sum of Forty ( 40.00) <br /> Dollars per annum; and each of the vehicles of said junk of second- <br /> hand dealers shall at all times have conspicuously displayed thereon <br /> a license tag carrying the number of said junk or second-hand <br /> dealer' s license . <br /> i <br /> Sectio ,0T. All licenses granted under this ordinance shall <br /> be issued by the City Clerk under the seal of said city, upon a receipt <br /> issued by the city treasurer showing payment of the license fee, after <br /> written permission granted by the commissioner of safety, and upon <br /> the filing of the bond required, proper approved as aforesaid; and <br /> all such licenses shall be revocable for violation of any ordinance <br /> relating to such business, and shall contain a provision making them <br /> revocable by the city council without liability to repay any urn arned <br /> portion of said fee, and without in any manner preventing the city <br /> from enforcing a.n ?ther penalties against such dealer. <br /> aectiod No person shall engage in any such business in <br /> more than one place, or maintain more than one shop or store for the <br /> same, by virtue of one license; and whenever the holder of any such <br /> license desires to remove his place of business he shall at once <br />
