The Construction entrances will use 36th street to access the property. Where necessary crushed
surfacing base course shall be applied immediately after grading roadway areas.Alternate construction
access BMPs are included in Appendix C as a quick reference tool for the on-site inspector in the event
the BMP listed above is deemed ineffective or inappropriate during construction to satisfy the
requirements set forth in General NPDES permit (Appendix D).To avoid potential erosion and sediment
control issues that may cause a violation of the NPDES Construction Stormwater permit, the Certified
Erosion and Sediment Lead will promptly initiate the implementation of one or more of the alternate
BMPs listed in Appendix C after the first sign that existing BMP are ineffective or failing.
3.1.3 Element#3—Control Flow Rate
In order to protect properties and waterways downstream of the project site, stormwater discharge
from the site will be controlled. The specific BMPs for flow control that may be used on this project
include:
BMP C241:Temporary Sediment Pond
BMP C207: Check Dams
Check dams may be installed within all on-site temporary interceptor swales as needed. The check
dams will slow down any flows occurring within these swales.Alternate flow control BMPS are included
in Appendix C as a quick reference tool for the on-site inspector in the event the BMP listed above is
deemed ineffective or inappropriate during construction to satisfy the requirements set forth in General
NPDES permit(Appendix D).To avoid potential erosion and sediment control issues that may cause a
violation of the NPDES Construction Stormwater permit, the Certified Erosion and Sediment Lead will
promptly initiate the implementation of one or more of the alternate BMPs listed in Appendix C after
the first sign that existing BMP are ineffective or failing.
In general, discharge rates of stormwater from the site will be controlled where soil compaction during
construction could lead to downstream erosion,or wherever necessary to meet local agency
stormwater discharge requirements (e.g. discharge to a combined sewer systems).
3.1.4 Element#4 Install Sediment Controls
All stormwater runoff from disturbed areas shall pass through an appropriate sediment removal BMP
before leaving the construction site. The specific BMPs to be used for controlling sediment on the
project include:
BMP C220: Storm Drain Inlet Protection
7
