City of Everett 01 12 16 - 4 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility - Demolition Package WO# UP-3525 <br />01 12 16 - 4 WORK SEQUENCE <br />6.Offsite disposal of excavated soil will only be permitted once presence of <br />contamination has been precluded following results of soil sampling or as allowed <br />by the Engineer. See Section 02 61 00 for requirements. <br />7.Perform pipeline dewatering and TV inspections prior to bulk demolition activities. <br />See Sections 33 01 30.16 and 33 01 30.53 for requirements. <br />8.Contractor shall facilitate access for the Owner/Engineer to perform condition <br />assessment in the following areas prior to continuation of work: <br />a.Area 35 and Area 55 Secondary Clarifiers: inspection of topping slab once <br />clarifier equipment has been removed. <br />b.Area 20 Neutralization Tanks: Inspection of drain piping and interior concrete <br />walls and floor once tank equipment has been removed and tanks are <br />adequately ventilated for confined space entry. <br />9.To allow access and provide sufficient clearance from overhead power lines, <br />demolish phosphoric acid tank prior to removal of lime silos on top of Area 25 <br />Chemical Storage Building. Coordinate with Snohomish County Public Utility <br />District (SnoPUD) on overhead power protection prior to removal of rooftop lime <br />silos. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A.Contractor shall apply / submit Discharge Authorization Request and obtain City <br />permit approval prior to placing any dewatering fluids (groundwater/tank/pipelines) <br />into the City sewer system. <br />B.The Contractor shall allow 10 working days for Owner/Engineer to complete condition <br />assessment per paragraph 1.7.B.8 prior to continuation of work in the subject areas. <br />3.2 OPERATION <br />A.Preparation: <br />1.Required equipment and materials shall be on site a minimum of 24 hours before <br />commencing any work covered in a MOP. <br />END OF SECTION 01 12 16
