LE LOEB
ELECTRIC
3.1 Infrared Window Division of Responsibilities
• Amazon
o Review additional IR windows outside of MSB during scope
review call.
• Loeb
o Contact local utility to schedule utility outage
o Provide IR windows (Will ship to VEEC or EC)
o Fluke CV300 3"IR Window Round
■ https://www.fluke.com/en-us/product/thermal-imaqinq/ir-windows/fluke-cv300
o IR Windows will ship directly to VEEC or EC.IR Windows will never be shipped
to site.
• VEEC/Loeb approved EC
o Will determine optimal placement of IR windows based on the instruction above
o Will install windows the manufacturers installation instructions provided in Appendix H
• Report any IR Windows shortages to the Loeb Project Manager.
o Provide photos of each switchboard after IR windows have been installed, photos should
show all sides where IR windows were applied.
o Follow PPE guidelines described in NFPA 70E-2018,Article 130.7(A)
3.2 Infrared Window Installation Timeline
All windows must be installed during the utility outage along with the PM and Arc Flash Relay Installation.
4.0 Arc Flash Relay Installation
4.1 Arc Flash Relay Scope of Work
During the scheduled utility outage, a Loeb provided arc flash relay will need installed at each main utility
Service entrance panel of the facility that the incident energy on the bus is greater than 12 cal/cm^2.This
includes installation of an alarm/beaconing device to notify the facility if the relay has failed.
Note: Upon installation of the arc flash relays, the existing arc flash labeling will no longer be accurate.
Arc flash labeling will need updated upon completion of arc flash relays and programming. Arc flash
labels will not be update for relays installed on BPS. Refer to Appendix P for further guidance on
labeling.
Immediately after the utility outage, an arc flash label must be installed at the main breaker. If the arc
flash study has not been completed or is unavailable, it is acceptable to calculate new incident energy
utilizing infinite bus method.
Arc flash relays will require existing equipment to have a shunt trip device installed and close coil when
applicable. If this function does not exist on the existing equipment, a shunt trip device will need to be
included in the BOM and Proposal.
The Arc Flash requires protection class CTs and UPS power supply, for details of all components see BOM
on Appendix G.Any deviation from components needs to be approved by Amazon RME Engineering
team through Loeb.
17Page
