w <br /> i <br /> red flag or cloth not less than 16 inches square shall be displayed <br /> at the extreme rear of said load as a warning signal to persons <br /> operating Vehicles approaching from the rear. <br /> (b) Whenever any vehicle shall be loaded with any material <br /> in such a manner that any portion of such load or of such vehicle <br /> extends more than one foot beyond the front hub cap on the left side <br /> of such vehicle as provided herein there shall be displayed at the <br /> extreme left side of such vehicle or such load at the tiliB s and un- <br /> der the conditions specified in this ordinance a lighted lantern <br /> or other light plainly visible under normal atmospheric conditions <br /> for at least two hundred feet from in front and for a like distance <br /> from the rear of such vehicle. No such light shall project a light <br /> greater than four apparent candle power. <br /> Section 19: Every vehicle, drawn or propelled by h rses, <br /> mules or other animal power shall, when driven on any public street <br /> or alley or other public place in the city of Everett during the hours <br /> of darkness, have fixed or carried thereon in some conspicuous lace <br /> on the left side of said vehicle at least one light so fixed or car- <br /> ried that the light therefrom may be seen both from the front and <br /> rear of said vehicle . <br /> Section 20; It shall be the duty of every person operating <br /> or driving any motor or other vehicle or any animal u-,on any street <br /> or alley or other public place where any peace officer displaying his <br /> star or badge is at the time discharging the duty of regulating and <br /> directing traffic in his locality, to obey all signals of such of- <br /> ficer directing such driver to take a certain direction or to stop <br /> or to otherwise proceed for the safety of the public, and to comply <br /> with all lawful orders of such officer. <br /> Section 21: It shall be unlawful for any person, while oper- <br /> ating or in charge of a motor vehicle, to refuse, when requested by <br /> a peace officer, to give hie name and address and the name and ad- <br /> dress of the owner of such motor vehicle or to give a false name and <br /> address or to refuse or neglect to stop when signaled to stop by any <br /> peace officer who is in uniform and who displays his badge conspic- <br /> /2 <br />
