under the criminal provisions of this -a-alt. <br /> (c ) The overtaking vehicle shall maintain its speed until clear <br /> of the vehicle overtaken and the vehicle being overtaken shall not <br /> increase its speed while being passed. <br /> (d) The signal of an intention to pass shall be given by <br /> one blast of the horn or other signaling device. <br /> (e) Should the overtaken vehicle then not give way, three <br /> such blasts or signals shall be given, and upon the failure to com- <br /> ply therewith, the overtaking vehicle may at the next suitable place <br /> safe for both vehicles go by without further signal. <br /> (f) It shall be the duty of every person operating or driv- <br /> ing any motor or other vehicle or riding or driving any animal along <br /> or over any street, alley or other public place in the city of Everett <br /> and approaching any intersection of a street, alley, road or highway <br /> or other public place, with the intention of turning thereat to <br /> the right , to keep to the extreme right , and with the intention <br /> of turning thereat to the left to proceed to any pyoint beyond the <br /> center of the intersection before turning. And it shall be the du- <br /> ty of every such person about to turn from a standstill or while in <br /> motion to ,give a timely signal from the left side of such motor ve- <br /> hicle, indicating the direction in which he intends to turn as fol- <br /> lows: If he intends to turn to the left he shall extend his arm in <br /> a horizontal position from the left side of such motor vehicle for a <br /> reasonable length of time; if he intends to turn to the right he <br /> shall extend his- arm with the forearmraised at right angles from the <br /> left side of such motor vehicle for a reasonable length of time and <br /> every such signal shall commence at a point not less than fifty feet <br /> before the turn is made.
