�I <br /> Section 8: Every motor vehicle shall be provided with a suit- <br /> able bell or horn or other signaling device which shall be rung or <br /> blown as a signal or warning to any person or whenever there is <br /> danger of collision or accident. It shall be unlawful for any per- <br /> son to use on any motor vehicle any gong or siren whistle unless <br /> such vehicle is used as an ambulance or is operated by a police de- <br /> partment, fire department, sheriff, state highway patrolman, or pa- <br /> trol wagons, ambulances, fire patrols, fire engines and fire appar- <br /> atus which shall, in all cases with due regard to the safety of the <br /> public, have the right of way, all provisions of this tee# to the con- <br /> trary notwithstanding, but such right of way shall not protect the <br /> driver of any such vehicle from the consequences of the arbitrary <br /> exercise of such right or from liability for injuries wilfully in- <br /> flicted. Any gong or siren whistle attached to any motor vehicle, <br /> except as permitted in this section, shall be prima facie evidence <br /> of the unlawful use of such gong or• siren whistle . <br /> Section 9: Every vehicle when upon any street, alley or <br /> other public place in the city of Everett• during the period from <br /> a half hour after sunset to a half hour before sunrise and at any <br /> other time when there is not su_ficient light to render clearly <br /> discernible a person , vehicle or other substantial object on the <br /> street, alley or other public place in the city of Everett at a dis- <br /> tance of two hunted feet ahead shall be equipped with lighted lamps <br /> and/or lighted headlights as herein respectively provided for this <br /> class of vehicles and subject to such exceptions as are set forth <br /> in this ate-. <br /> Section 10: (a) Every motor vehicle other than a motor- <br /> cycle or farm tractor and except as otherwise provided herein shall <br /> be equipped with two headlights of approximately equal candle power <br /> at the front of and on opposite sides of such vehicle. Such head- <br /> lights shall be so attached to such motor vehicle that the centers <br /> thereof shall be not more than fifty inches above the level surface <br /> upon which the vehicle stands. <br />
