Please review and respond to the comments below. Please note <br /> that additional and new comments have been made covering both building <br /> permits, B2109-057 & B2202-059 <br /> ARCHITECTURAL <br /> Background-the proposal entails an addition of decks,reconfiguration of interior <br /> spaces and the introduction of a kitchen and bar to a 3-story building. The <br /> existing construction is Type VB and existing occupancy is Group B. <br /> 1. The building is greater than 4000 square feet and includes an addition and a <br /> change of occupancy. State law requires a licensed architect to prepare and <br /> submit the plans for permit review. RCW 18.08. <br /> 2. The addition of the kitchen and reconfiguration of the first story changes the <br /> occupancy of the first story from a B to an A-2 as the use has changed and the <br /> occupant load of the Main Room exceeds 50 persons. Section 303.3 <br /> 3. As a change of use to an A-2 Occupancy, the building is required to be fully <br /> sprinklerd with an NFPA-13 system per Section 903.2.1.2. This will include the <br /> covered area and adjacent office/bathroom structure. <br /> PERMIT SERVICES <br /> 4. A sprinklered,A-2 Occupancy building is not permitted to be 3 stories high per <br /> Q3200 Cedar Street Table 504.4.
