William Velasco
Plan Check Number: B2202-028, First Building Review
March 10, 2022
Section R311.7. The stair detail should also show a thrust block or kicker plate and the
connections to the existing concrete slab.
8. Smoke and CO alarms should be provided per IRC Sections R314 and R315. The locations of all
alarms should be shown on the plans. The alarms should be hardwired, interconnected, and
provided with back-up battery power as required.
9. The project involves increasing the conditioned space at the basement level. Energy credits are
required per WSEC Section R406. The required number of credits should be normalized per
Table R406.2. A schedule of the selected credits should be included in the drawings. The
performance requirements for the selected credits should be specified.
10. Continuing with the previous comment, the basement level walls should be updated to comply
with the 2018 WSEC. Below grade walls should be insulated per Table R402.1.1 unless
modifications are required per selected energy credits. Basement level walls may have to be
furred out in order to comply with the WSEC.
11. The loft and main level bathroom appear to be previously remodeled without permits. This
includes exposing the exterior envelope cavities. The building is required to be insulated per
WSEC Section R503.1.1. Where required, insulation complying with current code should be
provided per Table R402.1.1. Attics should be provided with ventilation baffles per Section
R402.2.3.
12. The attic spaces in the loft should be provided with access openings per IRC Section R807.
3200 Cedar Street © 425.257.8810 O everetteps@everettwa.gov
Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 3 of 5
