Hold downs should be provided to resist uplift forces caused by overturning effects by lateral <br />forces. Provide appropriate tie downs for walls located at 2"d floor with a resulting uplift force. <br />IBC 1604.4 and SDPWS 4.3.6.4.2 (See comment 13 for additional required information). <br />14. For engineered buildings, the size and spacing of all anchor bolts should be shown on the shear <br />wall schedule. Shear wall schedule should be shown on the plans and be consistent with <br />foundation sections. R106.1.1 <br />15. Provide the following structural details and reference details on the plans. <br />a. Provide structural framing details for the truss connection to the wall top plate. <br />b. Provide a detail for floor -to -floor shear transfer from upper -level walls to lower -level <br />walls. R106.1.1 and R301.2.1 <br />c. Provide a framing detail to show shear transfer for the lower roof framing. For <br />example, the lower roof for the Garage and wall framing at Bedroom 3 location. <br />16. Detail 3/A5.1 should specify and show bracing of the truss. This detail should also show the <br />connection to the wall top plate. <br />17. Structural special inspections may be required for this project (shear wall nailing closer than 4 <br />inches). A statement on special inspections has not been provided and should be provided on <br />the plans. The statement should include a table listing each type of special inspection and <br />should specify the extent of each inspection (e.g., continuous, periodic) per IBC Section <br />1704.3.1. The table should include special requirements for seismic and wind resisting systems <br />as required by IBC Sections 1704.3.2 and 1704.3.3, respectively. See IBC Sections 107.1, <br />1704.2.3, 1704.3, Table 1705.3. <br />18. The Roof Framing Plan should specify any drag load/ collector load and drag strut <br />requirements. R106.1.1, R802.10, and IBC 2303.4.1.1 (6) <br />19. Provide general structural notes including but not limited to: <br />a. Specify all design load values, including dead, live, snow, wind, and soil bearing <br />values. <br />b. Specify grading and species of all framing lumber, including sheathing. Specify <br />pressure -treated wood and hot -dip galvanized or stainless steel fasteners, anchors <br />and hardware where required. <br />c. Specify Glulam beam stress grade and combination symbols. <br />d. Specify all engineered wood materials. <br />e. Specify maximum design concrete strength, concrete sack mix and reinforcing bar <br />grade. <br />f. Provide fastening schedule. Refer to IRC Table R602.3 (1) and list applicable <br />connections on the drawings. <br />g.
