CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Water Main Replacement “Y” – Ph 1 Div B – BID ITEM DESCRIPTIONS March 2024 <br />Work Order No. UP 3814 SP-31 <br />Also included in this bid item shall be the cost of all equipment required to remove existing soils <br />to attain proper elevations, compaction of native subgrade soils, as well as to uniformly spread <br />and compact the crushed surfacing material. <br />The unit price for this bid item includes all costs for removing, loading and disposing of displaced <br />unsuitable material, including haul. <br />Include in this bid item the cost of sprinkling during dry periods prior to placement of the crushed <br />surfacing and while spreading and compacting the material. <br />Payment for crushed surfacing base course will be by the ton of material placed and approved by <br />the Inspector. <br />Bid Item A21, B19, C20, D16 - Controlled Density Fill (CDF) <br />Specification Section 2-09 <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Cubic Yard (CY) <br />The unit price per cubic yard for controlled density fill shall be full compensation for all labor, <br />material, incidentals, tools and equipment necessary to furnish, deliver, and place controlled <br />density fill for trench backfill above the pipe zone at street intersections and watermain transverse <br />crossings, construct seepage dams, and as required by the Engineer, from a Contractor-supplied <br />source, in accordance with COE Design & Construction Standards & Specs (DCSS) Section 3- <br />9.6 and 3-20.1, and the Standard Plans. <br /> <br />Measurement for controlled density fill will be measured by the cubic yard for the quantity of <br />material placed by neatline calculations, within limits of dimensions defined in the Work, <br />descriptions of other bid items, shown on the Plans, details or COE Standard Drawings or as <br />otherwise approved by the Engineer. <br />Bid Item B20, C21, D17 - Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 6-Inch <br />Bid Item A22 - Class 53 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 6-Inch <br />Bid Item B21, C22 - Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 8-Inch <br />Bid Item A23 - Class 53 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 8-Inch <br />Bid Item D18 - Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12-Inch <br />Specification Section 7-09 <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF) <br />Per linear foot pipe measurement shall be based on the slope distance from point to point. The <br />point of beginning or ending of measurement in any particular run of pipe shall be the vertical <br />intersection of the centerline of the pipe measured with the centerline of the intersection pipe, or <br />with the beginning or ending of any new linear length of valves or couplings contained within the <br />measured length. At changes in pipe size connected by a reducer, the point of measurement <br />shall be taken as the midpoint of the reducer. <br />The unit contract price for Ductile Iron Pipe For Watermain, __-Inch, shall constitute full <br />compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install the <br />pipe, restrained joints (where shown on the Plans or as required by the Standard Specifications <br />and Special Provisions), and all fittings, including tees, crosses, reducers, couplings, and sleeves <br />required for complete installation along the run of each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and <br />specified herein, and additionally, shall include, but not be limited to, the following: <br />1. Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other Bid Items. This <br />shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt or concrete <br />pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod as indicated on <br />the Plans.
