<br />Water Main Replacement “Y” – Ph 1 Div B – BID ITEM DESCRIPTIONS March 2024
<br />Work Order No. UP 3814 SP-37
<br />Miscellaneous HMA used for pavement repair, thickened edges, extruded and wedge curbing,
<br />placing and compacting pre-leveling, leveling and wearing courses, feathering pavement is
<br />included in this bid item with no direct compensation made.
<br />Furnishing and applying tack coat, prime coat, joint seal and crack sealing asphalt is to be
<br />included in this bid item with no direct compensation made. All costs for “Anti Stripping Additive”
<br />and “Compaction Adjustment” shall be included in the unit contract price per ton of the HMA with
<br />no direct compensation made.
<br />The unit price for this bid item shall include all labor, materials, equipment and related work
<br />necessary to furnish, place, compact, roll and perform density tests on ATB per Section 9-03.6
<br />placed in accordance with the Plans, Standard Specifications, and these Special Provisions.
<br />Bid Item A38 - HMA, CL 1/2” PG 64-22 for Overlay
<br />Specification Section 5-04
<br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Ton (TON)
<br />Measurement for HMA, CL 1/2” PG 64-22 for Overlay shall be by the ton, recorded on certified
<br />weight tickets in accordance with 1-09.2 WEIGHING EQUIPMENT for HMA placed within the
<br />limits of dimensions defined in the Work or shown on the Plans, Standard Specifications, Section
<br />5-06 of these Special Provisions, or as otherwise approved by the Engineer. The measurement
<br />and payment limits for measuring the width of this bid item shall not exceed the pavement overlay
<br />limits shown on the Drawings. No deduction will be made for the weight of asphalt binder,
<br />blending sand, mineral filler, or other component of the mixture.
<br />The unit price for this bid item shall include all labor, materials, equipment and related work
<br />necessary to furnish, machine-place, compact, roll and perform density tests on HMA, CL 1/2”
<br />PG 64-22 pavement including streets, alleys, and street crossings, as shown on the Plans.

<br />Bid Item A39 - Planing Bituminous Pavement, Up to 2-inch Thickness
<br />Specification Section 5-04
<br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard (SY)
<br />Measurement for Planing Bituminous Pavement, Up to 2-inch Thickness shall be per square yard
<br />as delineated by the Contractor and approved by the Inspector. The unit price for this bid item
<br />shall be full payment for all costs incurred to perform the Work described in Section 5-04.3(14), to
<br />complete the work in accordance with the Plans, COE Standard Drawings, Standard
<br />Specifications and these Special Provisions.
<br />Bid Item A40 - Concrete Pavement Panel Replacement
<br />Specification Section 5-01
<br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard (SY)
<br />Concrete pavement panel replacement will be measured by the square yard, based on the actual
<br />with and length of surface are placed.
<br />The unit contract price for Concrete Pavement Panel Replacement, shall constitute full
<br />compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete the work as
<br />specified, including saw cutting full depth, removal and disposal of the existing, preparing the
<br />surfacing below the new panel, provide, place and compact the crushed surfacing, furnishing and
<br />placing geo-composite membrane on joints where new concrete panels abut existing panel
