(IOYR 3/1) sandy loam throughout the entire soil profile. From four to 12 inches, approximately
one percent of dark yellowish-brown(1 OYR 3/6) redoximorphic concentrations and 10 percent of
gray (10YR6/1) depletions are present. From 12 to 18 inches, approximately five percent of dark
yellowish-brown (10YR 3/6) redoximorphic concentrations and 20 percent of gray (10YR 6/1)
depletions are present.
Soils were saturated to the surface within the eastern portion of the wetland during the August
2023 investigation. Soils within the western portion of the site were moist, however exhibited
surface cracks, drainage patterns, and geomorphic positioning which indicate that the entirety of
Wetland A is expected to seasonally flood during the wet season.
Given the hydrophytic community, hydric soils, and presence of hydrology, the area mapped as
Wetland A meets the criteria for a wetland. This wetland is classified as a Category III wetland with
a low (5) habitat score and requires a standard buffer of 80 feet measured horizontally from its
delineated boundary.
4.2.2 Non-Wetland Areas Determination
Areas that are described as non-wetland are dominated by a few standing Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga
menziesiz),Western red cedar(Thuja plicata; FAC), and red alder(Alnus rubra; FAC) trees with a sparse
understory of Himalayan blackberry (Rubus anneniacus; FAC), sword fern (Polystichum munitum;
FACq, and salal (Gaultheria shallon; FACq. Review of publicly available resources indicates that
the area surrounding the existing SFR contained a fenced yard. This area is still dominated by lawn
grasses with exception to installed gravel.
Figure 9 Non-Wetland south of Wetland A, Figure 10 Non-Wetland within northern
photograph taken facing southeast. portion of property.
