22 <br /> <br />methods of pretreatment technology to be used, methods of source control, minimum <br />maintenance requirements, dragout, spill, and pollution prevention practices, or other <br />requirements as deemed necessary. The Director may establish BMPs in lieu of <br />numerical limits for non-categorical users. <br />2.5 pH Effluent Limitations Under Continuous Monitoring <br /> <br />A. Where a permittee continuously monitors the pH of wastewater discharged to <br />the City’s sewer system pursuant to a requirement in their discharge permit, the <br />permittee shall maintain the pH of such wastewater within the range set forth in <br />the permit, except excursions from the range are permitted subject to the <br />following limitations: <br /> <br />(1). The total time during which the pH values are outside the required range <br />of pH values shall not exceed two (2) hours in any calendar month; and <br /> <br />(2). No individual excursion from the allowable range of pH values shall <br />exceed 15 minutes. <br /> <br />B. At no time will the pH value be outside the allowable range of pH values by more <br />than one pH unit. <br /> <br />C. At no time shall the pH be less than 5.0 pH units. <br /> <br />D. All batch discharges shall be in compliance with the allowable pH range. <br /> <br />E. For the purposes of this Ordinance, an excursion is an unintentional and <br />temporary incident in which the pH value of the discharged wastewater exceeds <br />the range set forth in the user’s discharge permit. <br /> <br />F. Temporary pH value excursions that comply with the provisions or this section of <br />the Ordinance will not be considered violations of the user’s discharge permit <br />but shall be reported in the pretreatment self-monitoring report. <br /> <br />2.6 City's Right of Revision <br /> <br /> The City reserves the right to establish, by ordinance or in wastewater discharge <br />permits, differing standards or requirements on discharges to the POTW. <br />2.7 Special Agreement <br /> <br /> The City reserves the right to enter into special agreements with users setting out <br />special terms under which they may discharge to the POTW.
