Methods and materials for 8 construction are to be determined by the Contractor, but shall be in accordance with the 9 geotechnical evaluation provided in the Draft Geotechnical Report in the Appendices to 10 these Special Provisions. At the discretion of the Engineer, the Contractor shall 11 demonstrate firm and unyielding conditions via “proof rolling” using appropriate Contractor 12 equipment. The Engineer may also conduct other compaction testing, to verify the 13 Temporary Access Road conditions are suitable for construction traffic. Contractor shall 14 provide an engineer’s design and shop drawings for the construction of the temporary 15 access road, including the horizontal and vertical alignments, retaining walls, and typical 16 section to be approved by the Engineer prior to Construction. The vertical and horizontal 17 alignments shall be appropriate grades for chosen equipment. Additionally, the Contractor 18 shall provide dust control for the temporary access road during all times of Construction. 19 20
