Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 94 The unit Contract price per each for “Removing Drainage Structure” shall be full pay to 1 perform the Work as specified, including completely removing items, furnishing and 2 placing backfill material, compacting the voids, saw cutting, and disposing of the items. 3 4 “Removing Existing Drainage Pipe”, per linear foot. 5 The unit Contract price per linear foot for “Removing Existing Drainage Pipe” shall be full 6 pay for performing the Work as specified, including removing the pipe, furnishing and 7 placing backfill material, compacting the voids, saw cutting, and disposal. 8 9 “Saw Cutting Existing Pavement”, per linear foot. 10 The unit Contract price per linear foot for “Saw Cutting Existing Pavement” shall be full 11 pay for all costs necessary to complete the Work as specified regardless of the depth 12 encountered or the material to be cut, including collection, removal, and disposal of slurry. 13 14 “Park Demolition for Staging”, per lump sum. 15 The unit Contract price for “Park Demolition for Staging” shall be full compensation for all 16 costs to perform the Work as specified, including removal, excavation, haul, and disposal 17 and salvaging of Edgewater Park items and associated foundations as shown in the Plans 18 and described in these provisions. 19 20 “Temporary Access Road”, per lump sum. 21 The unit Contract price for “Temporary Access Road” shall be full compensation for all 22 costs incurred for planning alignment, shop drawings, dust control, grading, excavating, 23 loading, hauling, placing, compacting, or otherwise disposing of materials as required for 24 the temporary access roadway, retaining walls, removal of the temporary access roadway, 25 and all costs to prepare the area for the temporary work bridge. 26 2-03.GR2 27 Roadway Excavation and Embankment 28 29 2-03.3.GR2 30 Construction Requirements 31 32 2-03.3.INST1.GR2 33 Section 2-03.3 is supplemented with the following: 34 35 2-03.3.OPT1.DOCX 36 (******) 37 Wet Condition Earthwork 38 Earthwork should be performed in small areas to minimize exposure to wet weather and 39 conditions. Excavation of unsuitable and/or softened soil should be followed promptly by 40 placement and compaction of clean structural fill. The size and type of construction 41 equipment used may need to be limited to prevent soil disturbance. Under some 42 circumstances, it may be necessary to excavate soils with a backhoe to minimize 43 subgrade disturbance caused by equipment traffic. 44 45 Material used as excavation backfill in wet conditions should consist of clean granular soil 46 with less than 5 percent passing the U.S. No. 200 sieve, based on wet sieving the fraction 47 passing the ¾-inch sieve. The fines should be non-plastic. It should be noted this is an 48 additional restriction on the structural fill materials specified. 49 50
