Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 130 Asphalt Cost Price Adjustment = (Current Reference Cost – (0.95 x Base Cost)) x (Q 1 x 0.056). 2 3 Where: Current Reference Cost is selected from the website table based on 4 the “Date Effective” that immediately precedes the current month’s 5 progress estimate end date. For work completed after all authorized 6 working days are used, the adjustment will be based on the posted 7 reference cost during which contract time was exhausted. 8 9 Base Cost is selected from the website table based on the “Date 10 Effective” that immediately precedes the contract bid opening date, and 11 shall be a constant for all monthly adjustments. 12 13 Q = total tons of all classes of HMA paid in the current month’s progress 14 payment. 15 16 “Asphalt Cost Price Adjustment”, by calculation. 17 “Asphalt Cost Price Adjustment” will be calculated and paid for as described in this 18 section. The Contractor 32 may use temporary pavement (cold mix asphalt) to allow vehicular traffic to travel over the 33 construction areas including trench repair. Cold mix asphalt shall also be placed around 34 trench plates or other devices used to cover construction activities in a manner that provides 35 a smooth transition between the surfaces, as approved by the Engineer. 36 37 Materials 38 Materials shall meet the requirements of Section 9-03.8. 39 40 The composition of other components of the temporary asphalt pavement shall be determined 41 by the Contractor to provide a product suitable for the intended application. The Contractor 42 shall not use materials that are a safety or health hazard. 43 44 Temporary pavement material that does not form a consolidated surface after compaction 45 shall be considered unsuitable and be removed from the site.
