Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 169 8-14.3.INST1.GR8 1 Section 8-14.3 is supplemented with the following: 2 3 8-14.3.OPT4.DOCX 4 (******) 5 The cement concrete transition ramp shall be constructed out of 4,000 psi concrete. 6 7 8-14.3(3).DOCX 8 Placing and Finishing Concrete 9 10 8-14.3(3).INST1.DOCX 11 Section 8-14.3(3) is replaced with the following: 12 13 8-14.3(3).OPT1.DOCX 14 (******) 15 The concrete shall be placed in the forms and struck off with an approved 16 straightedge. As soon as the surface can be worked, it shall be troweled smooth with 17 a steel trowel. 18 19 After troweling and before installing the contraction joints or perimeter edging, the 20 walking surfaces of the transition ramps shall be brushed in a transverse direction 21 with a stiff bristled broom as shown in the Plans. 22 23 An expansion joint will be required when concrete transition ramp is surrounded by 24 other hard surfaces (for example bridge barrier) or as directed by the Engineer. 25 26 8-14.3(4).DOCX 27 Curing 28 29 8-14.3(4).INST1.DOCX 30 Section 8-14.3(4) is replaced with the following: 31 32 8-14.3(4).OPT1.DOCX 33 (******) 34 Concrete transition ramps shall be cured for at least 72 hours.
