The one lane closure shall be 4 illuminated and striped with reflective nighttime signing and striping. An 5 approved traffic control plan is required. 6 7 2. Between the hours of 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM during the week, with appropriate 8 detour alignments that would address access for all modes of 9 transportation: motorized vehicles, pedestrian, and bicycles, one lane may 10 be closed down as long as two-way access is permitted for vehicles, and 11 pedestrians and bicycles are also permitted to convey passage on the 12 structure. 13 14 3. The full bridge closure starts after the end of school in Summer 2024 and 15 ends no later than 12 months after the start of the bridge closure. Per 16 Special Provision 1-07.23(1).OPT1, the Contractor shall contact the 17 Director of Transportation and Safety, phone number 425-356-1258, with 18 specified advanced notice prior to closing the bridge. 19 20 4. Bridge lane end closure signing and barricades shall be provided with 21 appropriate approved traffic control plans for closures in excess of 20 22 minutes that block pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic from entering the 23 bridge that block vehicular traffic during daytime single lane closures. All the 24 detour route signs need to be in place before the closure is initiated. An 25 approved traffic control plan is required. 26 27 5. Fixed detour signs shall be installed, covered, uncovered and removed all 28 as required to provide the necessary intervals of nighttime and daytime 29 temporary lane closure on the bridge structure. Approved traffic control 30 plans are required. 31 32 6. Except as otherwise stated, pedestrian traffic will be allowed to continuously 33 use a walkway of the bridge except for 20 min delays to implement staging 34 and transitions- until the full long-term closure is implemented. 35 36 7. No closures of the bridge will be permitted from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM on the 37 structure on any Federal holiday weekend beginning at 5:00 AM on Friday 38 and ending at 9:00 PM on Monday. An approved traffic control plan is 39 required. 40 41 8. Everett and school bus stops shall remain open to pedestrians at all times. 42 43 9. Where sidewalks or walkways are required to be closed by construction, an 44 alternate walkway, approved by the Engineer, must be provided. The 45 temporary pedestrian path as shown on the plans shall be permitted to be 46 graveled and maintained as directed by the Engineer. Construction of the 47 temporary pedestrian path shall require the partial removal, salvage, and 48 replacement of a rock wall. The Contractor shall restore the rock wall to its 49 original state or in a manner acceptable to the Engineer. 50 51
