<br />Bid Item 3 - TRENCH AND EXCAVATION SAFETY SYSTEMS
<br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS)
<br />The lump sum bid item includes the costs directly allocated to the safety system for the reservoir
<br />and trench excavation including, but not limited to, contractor designed excavation support
<br />systems, soldier piles, shoring, benching, bracing, ramps, excavation, sheeting, and leak
<br />management. This Work shall be accomplished in accordance with Divisions 1, 2, 7, and 8 of the
<br />WSDOT Standard Specifications plus Chapter 39.04.180 of the Revised Code of Washington
<br />(RCW), Part N of Chapter 296-155 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Washington
<br />Industrial Safety and Health Act, Chapter 49.17 RCW, and 29CFR 1926 of OSHA.
<br />Partial payment for reservoir excavation safety systems shall be calculated based on the ratio of
<br />work completed as listed in the Schedule of Values.
<br />Bid Item 4 - TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
<br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS)
<br />The lump sum bid price for this bid item shall be full compensation for all costs associated with
<br />furnishing the tools, labor, equipment, and materials necessary or incidental for the Spill Prevention,
<br />Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan and temporary erosion and sedimentation control
<br />(TESC) measures including the following:
<br />1. SPCC Plan includes, but is not limited to, all costs associated with complying with the
<br />requirements of WSDOT 1-07(15).1.
<br />2. Care and cleanup of petroleum products or other construction byproducts.
<br />3. Installation maintenance and removal of the TESC facilities to prevent pollution, erosion,
<br />siltation, and damage to any wetland, stream, other watercourse, or surrounding property
<br />throughout the life of the Contract.
<br />4. Measures that prevent silt from entering storm drains, trenches, or water courses or
<br />surrounding property as required in permits or as necessitated by climate, weather
<br />conditions and the Contractor's activities.
<br />5. All cover measures, runoff control measures, soil and site stabilization measures, silt fence,
<br />high visibility fencing, street cleaning and sweeping, stabilized construction entrance, using
<br />measures such as curbs, berms, dikes, rock -lined ditches, silt fence, and high visibility
<br />fence, wattles, and inlet protection measures, and other approved measures.
<br />6. Dust control, including but not limited to watering down work site, and covering non -Zone A
<br />stockpiles.
<br />7. TESC measures shall also limit the erosion possibility by covering non -Zone A disturbed
<br />soils, preventing sloughing or raveling of cut and natural slopes, and controlling surface
<br />runoff from flowing into excavations.
<br />8. Temporary erosion control measures that may be required at access roads, haul routes,
<br />staging areas, material and equipment storage yards and other sites occupied or used by
<br />the Contractor.
<br />9. Transferring and maintaining all temporary erosion control permits including but not limited
<br />to all monitoring, sampling, reporting and other permitting -type activities.

<br />Bid Item 5 - EXISTING FIRE TOWER AND DRAFTING PIT DEMOLITION
<br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS)
<br />The lump sum bid price for this bid item shall be full compensation for all costs associated with
<br />furnishing the tools, labor, equipment, and materials necessary or incidental with demolition,
<br />removal, and disposal of the fire tower and drafting pit.
<br />a. Fire department tower including foundation removal and backfill
<br />d. Drafting pit (vault) removal and backfill
