14. All other work in this area, will be paid under this bid item.
<br />Partial payments of the total bid item costs will be made for the lump sum contract price based on
<br />milestone completion of the work as follows:
<br />1. A total of 15% of the total bid cost will be made based upon required material submittal and
<br />acceptance and procurement of the pipe, plus preparation, submittal and permitting of the traffic
<br />control plans.
<br />2. The remainder of the payment will be made for completion of installation, testing and
<br />acceptance, CCTV inspections, and flushing, cleaning, disinfection and acceptance of the
<br />installed pipes.
<br />Partial payment shall be calculated based on the ratio of work completed as listed in the Schedule
<br />of Values.
<br />Bid Item 22 - FEDERAL AVENUE CONNECTION
<br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS)
<br />The lump sum bid price for this bid item shall be full compensation for all costs associated with
<br />furnishing the tools, labor, equipment, and materials necessary or incidental for the following:
<br />1. Excavation and pipe system installation
<br />2. Shoring systems
<br />3. Welding, weld testing, and joint testing
<br />4. Install, pressure test, and inspection of pipe system
<br />5. Restrained joints including all fittings and valves, including taps, tees, crosses, reducers,
<br />couplings, flanges, flanged coupling adapters, and sleeves
<br />6. Traffic control
<br />7. Detectable Marking Tape (tracer wire) above the pipes.
<br />8. Pipe anchors, temporary and permanent thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary
<br />and permanent restraint systems
<br />9. Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between these installations and any existing watermains or
<br />other utilities encountered.
<br />10. Maintenance, restoration and/or relocation, if required, of existing water mains, electrical
<br />systems, and culverts, storm drainage pipe, other utilities and structures affected by
<br />construction
<br />11. Abandonment and/or removal of existing pipes including cutting, draining and properly
<br />disposing, and plugging abandoned pipe at each end with a minimum of 2-feet of Commercial
<br />concrete or CDF
<br />12. Flushing, cleaning, bacteriological testing, and disinfection
<br />13. Trench excavation, pipe bedding and backfill, steel plates, etc.

<br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS)
<br />The lump sum bid price for this bid item shall be full compensation for all costs associated with
<br />furnishing the tools, labor, equipment, and materials necessary or incidental for the following:
<br />1. Testing of all systems,
<br />2. Start-up of all systems.
<br />3. The O&M Manuals for the project.
