5. A statement should be placed on the plans (BExxx Sheets) substantially as follows: ,The
undersigned has provided building enclosure documents that in my professional judgment are appropriate to
satisfy the requirements of RCW 64.55.005 through 64.55.090."
6. The special inspection requirement for the building envelope should be shown on the
plans per RCW 64.55.030 (the inspection note on Sheet BE000 is not clear that the
inspection duty is placed on the ownership team and not the jurisdiction).
7. The locations of the standpipes should be shown on the plans. Section 905.4
8. The walls adjacent to the toilets in the public toilet rooms should be shown protected as
required in Section 1210.2.2
9. The elevators are not required to have lobbies or pressurization as noted on GB030. Please
see Item 1 of Section 3006.2 (the building is also not a Group I nor is it a high-rise). The
system may be beneficial for any methane gas accumulation issues, however that is
outside the purview of this review.
Construction
1. The concrete floor at level 2 is a 3-hour horizontal separation per Section 510.2. Elevator
2 pushes up through this 3-hour assembly. In order to maintain the integrity of the 3-
hour assembly, the lower part of the framed wall in detail 5/AB521 should be shown as a
minimum 3-hour fire -resistive assembly.
2. To maintain the fire -resistive integrity of the two-hour fire -barrier enclosure in Detail
1/AB532, the two -layers or GWB should be continuous behind the abutting wall type 99,
or solid blocking should be provided at the juncture. Section 707.5
3. The STC and IIC ratings should be provided for horizontal assembly types B, C & H/AB502.
Section 1207
4. Listing GA RC-2601 is for solid -sawn joists. Roof/ceiling type H/AB502 should refer to a
listing for composite member joists. The listing should clarify that the entire cavity may
be filled with insulation. Section 703.2
5. The proprietary GWB called out in floor/ceiling assembly type C/AB502 should be specified
on the plans. Section 703.2
6. For clarity (fire resistance and STC), the wall type callouts for the walls separating dwelling
units from each other and other spaces (trash, electrical, IDF, janitor, etc.) should be
shown on the fire -life safety sheets or overall floor plans (walls separating stairs and shafts
from dwelling units are clearly marked on the AB525+ sheets).
7. Wall type 91(one-hour) should be shown as two-hour wall type 92 (assumed) on the stair
enclosure wall callouts on Sheet AB525.
