August 21, 2024 <br />5 <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to utilize a sliding scale <br />based on longevity like the one established in Ordinance 3736-20, Section 2d(3). <br /> <br />Rhyne requested the budgetary impact of changing the payout. <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Zarlingo, seconded by Council Member Bader to table the motion <br />regarding the sliding scale based on budgetary impacts. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br />Motion tabled. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding approval of hiring within 12-month period and a hiring freeze. <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Rhyne, to amend Section 5a, <br />to strike “or designee” and add “and Council” next to “the Mayor,” and approve the remainder <br />of the changes to section 5. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />ACTION ITEMS: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - EVERETT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to adopt Resolution <br />No. 8061 concurring with staff recommendation and authorizing the Mayor to implement the <br />next steps to establish an Everett Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding creation of the committee and ongoing updates from the Chamber. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />
